While this thread is labeled "DotA2", this is in fact a community thread first. Many of the users in the TL LoL subforum have been playing as friends for over a year now, so it makes logical sense that they would want to play other games together. Do not compare DotA2 to LoL, you will get banned. TL LoL veterans know what is expected. Newcomers be warned. gl hf

I realize they lose gold for the death and the buyback, but that seems like an easy trade if it means they can keep a tower up and pick up counter kills. Buyback had no cooldown a few years back. Imagine that

It's not the first time that happened even. The message about it being denied was added after the first one, people were really confused

Technically if you know about game mechanic, you most likely not lose that much money from dying. In Dota2, gold is divided into 2 kinds: reliable and unreliable gold. When you kill/assist heroes/tower, you get reliable gold, any other source of income is counted as unreliable gold. When you die, it will take out your unreliable gold and leave the reliable gold alone. So if you know you're gonna die, you should buy items to use up your unreliable gold and you'll lose nothing from dying. You can sell back items and get half price back after reviving. And yeah, before this patch, buyback has the same cd as Flash in LoL, and people whine about Flash.

Most of the gold you lose from dying is actually in the time you spent dead where you aren't farming. The gold you lose when you die is pretty negligible. Buying and reselling after you're dead is likely never favorable. If you have that little amount of gold that you're trying to save you should just spend it on dusts or smokes.

Eh, people better at this game than me have said that Nav'i have a better lategame team - they simply got to the point where they had enough items and levels to win the teamfights, regardless of the 10k gold lead that Orange had.

I understand that NaVi has the better late game heroes, it's just that Orange couldn't even lay siege before NaVi got their items.
