While this thread is labeled "DotA2", this is in fact a community thread first. Many of the users in the TL LoL subforum have been playing as friends for over a year now, so it makes logical sense that they would want to play other games together.

Do not compare DotA2 to LoL, you will get banned.

TL LoL veterans know what is expected. Newcomers be warned.

eclipse is better the fewer targets there are. also Alliance is so disciplined as a team... just wow. Navi got so greedy at Roshan.

Is Alliance revolutionary in their heavy farm jungle play? I see a lot of other teams with their supports at level 2/3 with no CS when Alliance supports are level 4 with 20 CS. Did Alliance figure out something special with maximizing global gold gain?

it's a lot like freezing lane in lol, it gives the other team a lot of map pressure.

I suppose maybe it just seems strong on Alliance because there solos are so dependable.

I think Naga is core in Alliance's game plan, it's like Janna or Nami in the ability to completely disengage. Naga makes it impossible to dive their base with high ground mechanics. Their weakness is early map presence, and I think Na'Vi really figured something out in game 2 when they got an easy first blood and all outer towers. If they didn't throw at Rosh and didn't have to face Naga, Na'Vi could have easily gotten early barracks.

They didn't throw at Rosh. By then the game was already lost. Alliance had the items they needed to completely outscale Navi and Navi hadn't managed to get any real damage done. A throw would imply Navi were winning the game at the point the rosh fight happened when in reality it was over by then.

As for revolutionary play, I don't think so. It's just that Akke/EGM have the best support basics out of anyone in the world. There is just no wasted movements by them. Actually really similar to how Meteos jungles. The naga is pretty vital but they don't lose that much map presence with their efficiency in the jungle. You often see EGM getting level 6 before the 8 minute mark.

This.

Honestly it's mostly that Alliance's supports execute well and don't waste time. It's not so much that other supports can't farm, but that when they smoke gank/etc. their success rate against Alliance's solos tends to be far lower than the reverse.

Even a single failed smoke gank sets the supports extremely far behind in addition to wasting the value resource of a Smoke. Akke+EGM ensure that they don't waste those haphazardly. They gank what they know they can make work, and otherwise do a very good job of not wasting their time.

If there's a place where Alliance maximizes its efficiency more than other teams, it's at the Ancients.

Any chance of seeing the return of Fuun1k clinkz today or is Navi just not interested in offensive tri-lanes?

my noob impression of game 1 picks: Orange has a very mobile and gank oriented comp. Na'Vi is looking to initiate and teamfight.

it always surprises me how tanky and resilient hard carries are. naix just goes 1v3 and Orange can't just turn on him.

The hardest carries in Dota 2 tend to be extremely tanky and survivable. It's partially due to how hard defensive stats scale cause of attributes. There's also the issue of magic immunity which basically makes most supports useless for the duration of the immunity.

game 2: Orange is super heavy on CC and this time has the teamfight comp, but NaVi's Naga is like a direct counter to that. I don't understand why teams don't ban her.

Also Orange really messed up at level 1.

Sleep transfer is cute, but it's Leshrac that had miss stun. If he get his stun off on the champ that was originally slept, Navi will have 1 stunned one and 1 slept one, which guarantee a lose.

I don't know why he wanted Leshrac either beside his pushing power, Lion was much superior than Leshrac at connecting cc.
