Depiction of me and maggrig playing
I've been playing more Baduk than BW in the last month, and after my 68th Honinbo blog (damn you new generation!!) I've met our TL fella maggrig for a game on KGS! I've never played a game with such a slow time settings, but it sure feels good to be able to have time to think.
The software that generate the diagrams does not show captured stones in the board, so if a sequence is skipping a number or two, that's because that particular stone was captured.
Also, bear in mind that I'm 1d, which means I'm weak. This "battle report" is bound to have mistakes that a higher ranked player will find easy to spot. You are welcome to criticize!

Dia. 1
I play with the white stones, and my opponent maggrig plays with the black stones. The moves 1 to 8 are normal.
Dia. 2
This is the sequence I had in mind. After the moves from 1 to 13, white gets a wall in the top and sente. The idea was to attack the marked black stone with a pincer, using the white's wall influence.
Dia. 3
However maggrig played black 1, thus avoiding following white's plans. White 2 is an overplay.
Dia. 4
1 to 5 is joseki. White settles in the corner with 8 points and black stablishes his top and left groups. I chose to not play like this because I wanted sente to protect the top right corner.
Dia. 5
This is the real game. Black strongly punished the overplay at 2 in Dia. 3. In this diagram, black has settled a 6 point group in the corner and split white into 2 pointless groups. Black 11 was beautiful.
Dia. 6
Black 1 was a mistake. The sequence from 1 to 14 was too soft on white. It allowed white to play 14, which helps the group at the top and puts some pressure in the marked black stone.
Dia. 7
This diagram is better for black than the Dia. 6. Notice how black starts developing territory on the left side and strengthens his position at the top.
Dia. 8
Due to black's mistake in Dia. 6, white was able to recover in the game. White was able to settle his top group, secure his left dragon and created a target by separating the black groups with 28.
Dia. 9
Black 7 is huge. At this point, black is clearly in the lead. White 8 is questionable, as me and maggrig quickly reviewed the game, it seems like a better move would be at the triangle mark, which works better with the wall in the center.
Dia. 10
Black 1 was expected. However white handled the situation very badly. From 1 to 10 black got a 10 point group in the corner in sente, which allowed him to play the reducing move at 11. Black is so far ahead now.
Dia. 11
Black has been comfortably leading the game up to this point. White 65 was my last chance at winning this match. The marked stones are very fragile at the moment, and black can't afford to lose them all.
Dia. 12
White 22 puts black in a very complicated situation now. The black group is short on eye space, if black dies, white wins.
Dia. 13
Black resigns.
I was very lucky. Maggrig played better than me the whole time, I should've lost the game.
Sorry if I didn't cover many variations of the game, it really takes time to this thing, just like Starcraft battle reports.
Thanks for the game!
