I have a feeling if the next SC2 expansion does not have many ppl play it blizzard will do other things to try to force ppl to buy the newer expansions. That is why I do not like the decision... anyway pretty expected with how blizzard has been lately. Lol, that is insane man. They aren't forcing you to do anything. You paid 60$ for WOL 3 years ago. That's a fucking bargain. 3 years of entertainment for 60 bucks. Then, they leave the servers up for you and you come here to whine. This makes no sense. Well I bought Warcraft 3 RoC a decade ago and I still play that game all the time. Guess what it still has al its features and a running server. I bought Diablo 1 over a decade ago and its servers are still running. Don't tell me I'm getting a bargain for that game when I still play 10+ year old games for the same price. The argument is illogical. And even if they decide not to support servers for the game, they could still offer offline mode. Now that'd be an awesome change for WoL and easily compensate for removing online achievements. So don't argue bargain lol especially when WoL pails in comparison to a game like D1.
Yea and WoL still has its features, does WC3 still have the pro ladder each season? Fuck no, this is exactly the same

The GM league was, apparently, not even full. That means the requirements to enter are not even competitive, they are based more on monotony. If you can wait those long queues and keep your bonus pool down you are almost guaranteed a spot in GM. I don't see a reason for the league to continue long after the prestige is gone.

I think that 99% of the pros switched to Hots on day 1, so WoL grandmaster league lost its value then.

Anyone who reached GM after HotS launch should have the credit removed from their profile.

I'm all for this change. I feel it should of gone down the day HotS came out, since at that point its relevance was just about nothing.

or you shouldnt be focusing on starcraft in the first place and instead be focusing on getting a job that can afford you a 40$ game Obviously you have never had to live pay check to paycheck and still be in debt. For the future don't go around disrespecting people that don't have the opportunity to budget 40$. For example I was in college, paying rent, insurance, tuition, working two jobs at minimum wage, going to classes, paying a food bill, gas bill, repairs on a used car and much more just like any standard college student and there was no way I could make payments on time. And guess what, I know people coming from unfortunate families who work two-three jobs and still can't afford college because they are just trying to get by. So don't be ignorant and think that taking up a better job is that easy. And at 1am when they get home and have 3 hrs to try and spend some time having fun before going to sleep and waking up to their first job again, if they want to go ahead and focus on Starcraft as the outlet to their already tough life, who the hell are you to say they should be focusing on getting a better job when they already have 2. The world is not as easy as creating insults so maybe you should think a second before you post something like that.
Obviously you have never dabbled in logic. If one has 3 hrs to spend playing starcraft, y would he not just spend some days doing overtime saving up to buy the newest game. The money and time that he would invest into HOTS would be better rewarded than playing a dying and broken game. ALso this wouldnt take that long. At minimum wage(7.5 lets say) it would take less than 6 that would have been spent playing WOL(lets face its WOL) that can be better spent on a long term experience.

Your post made me sick, after reading that i doubt you have ever had to work for something in your life.
edit: when your in dept, if you work overtime, you are still going to be in dept those few hours are probably going to food and bills.

Your post made me sick, after reading that i doubt you have ever had to work for something in your life. edit: when your in dept, if you work overtime, you are still going to be in dept those few hours are probably going to food and bills. None of that has to do with the sc2 gm league. If you argument is to stand up, you are saying that all the overtime hours one does goes to bills and to food, if that is true, why the fuck is this person spending enough time on sc2 to be in the gm league. He should be working to get out of debt, which is significantly more important, and he, the guy who got himself in debt, should learn the value of a dollar and how to save it from the experience. Your post shows incredible ignorance, and this whole situation is absurd. If someone is good enough to be in a GM league that is solely based around grinding games, which means wasting incredible amounts of time, and is in enough debt that he is living paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford a $60 expansion, he shouldn't be grinding games, he should be getting another form of income with that time. What you are arguing for is spending enough time per week on sc2 to be the same as about half that of a part time job. This argument is absolutely ridiculous.
