and for those who cant "buy" hots then just dont eat for a couple days and save 40$
or you shouldnt be focusing on starcraft in the first place and instead be focusing on getting a job that can afford you a 40$ game Obviously you have never had to live pay check to paycheck and still be in debt. For the future don't go around disrespecting people that don't have the opportunity to budget 40$. For example I was in college, paying rent, insurance, tuition, working two jobs at minimum wage, going to classes, paying a food bill, gas bill, repairs on a used car and much more just like any standard college student and there was no way I could make payments on time. And guess what, I know people coming from unfortunate families who work two-three jobs and still can't afford college because they are just trying to get by. So don't be ignorant and think that taking up a better job is that easy. And at 1am when they get home and have 3 hrs to try and spend some time having fun before going to sleep and waking up to their first job again, if they want to go ahead and focus on Starcraft as the outlet to their already tough life, who the hell are you to say they should be focusing on getting a better job when they already have 2. The world is not as easy as creating insults so maybe you should think a second before you post something like that.
Thank you.
Also, I find removing it logical, and my reasoning agrees with it, but as I have WoL only and wanted to get that GM title my heart says NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :<<<<<<<<<
Every time I got some time to play, something got in my way, mostly the end-of-season promotion lockdown.

Never got around to getting in GM in WOL myself, I was opposed to it at first but after seeing a f list full of GM borders I was tempted and ready to next season, unfortunate timing was starting to get excited

Dude, GM in WoL was so stupid and meaningless, it wasn't even filled. There were like 80 spots taken. If you really wanted to, you could get GM in WoL pretty easily and would not even deserve the status.

i thought all active players got gm.. which is.... around 80 =D

GM was so easy in WOL you could even get it on a xbox360 controller xD. I think it was a good move by blizzard.
|
Honestly I do not like this even if WOL GM is extremely easy. I quit 31 weeks came back with my apm like 50% of what it was and no idea about build orders anymore. Still though went 50% vs WOL GMs but........ still I think GM should be there. I have a feeling if the next SC2 expansion does not have many ppl play it blizzard will do other things to try to force ppl to buy the newer expansions. That is why I do not like the decision... anyway pretty expected with how blizzard has been lately.

shoudlve removed it when hots was released

we want Grandmaster League to continue to feel meaningful and relevant for players who strive to earn a seat among the top 200 in their region.
As in: We want you to feel you need to buy Heart of the swarm, so we take away things from WoL slowly.
One thing is to add things in the expansion and not add it in the Original, but this is not nice at all.
|
Seems kinda silly to even really announce this, doesn't seem like a big deal lol. Honestly not sure why people would even still play competitively on WoL for GM.
|
I don't play WoL anymore but it seems like they could have made everybody happy and just called it something else from now on. People could now hit top 200 in WoL and get some kind of designation but players would know that that's not the same as GM in HotS or in pre-HotS WoL.
But they probably didn't do that mainly because it's more convenient to just cut it.

makes complete and total sense. approve

If you like WoL and care enough to get GM, then just stop whining and buy HotS.

That's a fucking bargain. 3 years of entertainment for 60 bucks. Then, they leave the servers up for you and you come here to whine. This makes no sense.

Seems like a natural decision. I don't see anything wrong with it to be honest.

Good choice, else grand master is kind of pointless

Well I bought Warcraft 3 RoC a decade ago and I still play that game all the time. Guess what it still has al its features and a running server. I bought Diablo 1 over a decade ago and its servers are still running. Don't tell me I'm getting a bargain for that game when I still play 10+ year old games for the same price. The argument is illogical. And even if they decide not to support servers for the game, they could still offer offline mode. Now that'd be an awesome change for WoL and easily compensate for removing online achievements. So don't argue bargain lol especially when WoL pails in comparison to a game like D1.

Wow. I think they could have kept the GM league for WoL because players in WoL, possibly, want to have a feel of accomplishment by achieving GM. Personally, I am neutral to this change because most of the players are switching to HotS and I think they could have kept it and not get rid of it.
