Trustworthy small "aid organizations"?

Kleinmuuhg Vanuatu4091 Posts May 12 2013 19:38 GMT #1 Very quick question: Are there any aid organizations you know and trust (from experience/ because you donated yourself), which do really good work, but do not get the attention and the donations you feel they deserve? Preferably working on topics like -Education / Food / Drinking water for people in need -Fighting Poverty ( help people help themselves) -suggest topics you find most important I want to get rid of some money Example: nasia-orphanage.blogspot.de/ Thank you for your answers.

ieatkids5 United States4628 Posts May 12 2013 22:51 GMT #3 one way is to go to world bank, UNDP, ADB, and other such organizations' websites and see which nonprofits, NGOs, and other groups are being given grants/loans to work on whatever development project. they have lists of projects categorized into education, sanitation, water, energy, food, rural, agricultural, etc. these would be good resources to go to to find such organizations. world bank and other groups usually have pretty high standards when they put a project up for bid, so it's pretty safe to assume that the organizations that win bids for those projects are pretty reputable.
