I'm gonna have to make a themed game with more nukes though. Can't have enough nukes.

Thanks for hosting! Sorry for the lackluster start of our hydra. Weekend is family time for me, and prom was at work. When he wrote me he'd replace out I did not see it for almost 12 hours because I was offline the whole day.

You had to know Palmar was expecting you to say Vivax was town because of it...had you just not carefully read the thread or something? I saw them talk about hydra QTs quite a bit, did he specifically refer to the "don't worry i'm taking care of that in the hydra qt"? I thought that response was really towny, but I forgot about that and I couldn't just keep strongly pushing the idea that all the active people are town. If it was something they said near the lynch, I was asleep. No palmar I can't quite pick up on town tells asleep. Yet.

This was the post that made people think Vivax/Kush were town. On April 15 2013 05:30 VIVAX420 wrote: FMB post QT right now please

Yes, it was actually. I mislynched him for it was thinking it was a try hard soft town claim.

As for Syllo, I thought he played a really good Day 1. He was not a realistic Day 1 lynch, and he almost singlehandedly pushed a mislynch through, but was in the unenviable position of having to deal with the wave of activity at the end of the day without help from his scum-buddies. On April 16 2013 11:53 geript wrote: Hapa how do you manage to de-tunnel so easily? I always saw myself as a fairly tunnel-y player o.O Well I've been a pretty aggressive player throughout my TL Mafia career, and I've fucked up enough tunnels over the past year to know when I've gotten something wrong. VE said it pretty well - it's all about being able to check yourself for confirmation bias, and I have a lot of "checks" that I've picked up from past experiences. Also, I think I've changed my mindset towards "tunneling" over time. I view it more nowadays as an information-gathering session rather than an argument/confrontation. I'm not only looking for reasons that someone could be scum - I'm also looking for reasons that someone could be town. Mafia is rarely about identifying that one scummy thing in someone's filter. It's often about weighing the reasons to think that someone is town vs. the reasons to think that someone is scum, and putting them together to reach an objective conclusion. And as a fun-fact, sometimes I go into tunnels to find excuses to call someone townie. My entire dialogue with Kush/Vivax at the end of N1 was to this end - I had a gut-town read on Kush, but I needed to test his responses more to be sure of his alignment. As scum, he whines incessantly when under pressure, so you have to turn the screws and see the results. On April 16 2013 11:56 geript wrote: Also why did you have me pegged as town so early and easily? When I make early reads like that, it's not really my objective to 100% nail someone as town. It's mainly just to take a stance and begin discussion. I'm a player that really needs to be in the center of attention/discussion to have accurate reads, so I've adapted my playstyle to that over time. As it turns out I'm right more often than not with my early-game reads, but the point isn't to be correct - it's just to put something out in the thread. I may as well throw them out there because it lets people start thinking about reads as opposed to mindless-spam, and I can always just change my mind if I'm wrong. As for the specifics of my read on you this game, I think I explained it in-thread. You took a post seriously that was not meant to be taken seriously, and it looked like you were eager to scum-hunt. It's hard to explain it very clearly, but as you play and pick up experience, you start to pick-up on townie idiosyncrasies like that. You begin to see certain posts that are incredibly "genuine" and townie.

I think he was fine, and pretty tame considering some of the other aggressive antics we see in other games. Also let the guy have his glory - he's had a break-out in his town game of late, and it's nice to see someone riding high like that. I don't know if it was Palmar or DP that told me to get modkilled (shortly before the D1 deadline), but that line really just killed my motivation for the rest of the night. I normally don't mind some abrasiveness, but the implication that they just wanted to have me out of the game completely really pissed me off.

I personally feel that saying something like this is much more offensive then calling someone an idiot ingame.
