So, a few weeks I noticed a post for the talent show audition at my school. Almost none of you know me, so here's a back story:
I've always been a shy kid, ever since the day I first attended this school (Grade 3). I've been drumming for ~5 years (went to Yamaha Music School for a few months) and have never auditioned for anything even once in my life. I've been in the audience in this annual talent show thing for the last 4 years and I was sure I could at least take top 3. So I figured, hey this is my last year in this school so even if I fail hard I won't have to endure the embarrassment for long until I leave for university. Great mindset, I know.
Thus, I decided that I would break my own 'tradition' (been thinking of auditioning since the first time I watched it) and decided to go for it. Audition was horrible (wasn't used to the school drum kit), but they still took me in anyways (haha!). There were 4 practice days after that before the big day, and all of the practice days went quite well.
A lot of people were surprised that I got in, since they didn't even know I could play an instrument. Time to them prove them wrong I guess.
I ended up taking second, the first place was also a drummer with really simple beats BUT he threw sticks in the air like no other (making the crowd go crazy), however I was quite happy with my performance (at least in the first day, the second day I actually dropped my sticks >.>).
Without further ado, here's my solo of the first day, I appreciate any feedback
(excuse the quality, was an Iphone)
