First, I'd like everyone to take a look at CreatorGX's awesome vector art of a probe (and minerals?):
I've been learning to use Photoshop, and all I've really learned how to do is mess around with the lighting of pictures, merge pictures, and add text onto pictures. So I guess you could say I've learned diddlysquat about Photoshop.
I made some pretty pathetic (not pretty, just pathetic) wallpapers that I'd like to share and put up for criticism.
Here's one that I made from kind of made from scratch. I had a black background, added a fancy picture of space, and added another fancy picture of space - the Pillars of Creation.
I had CreatorGX help me with some of the blurs. He's such a great dude.
Slapping quotes onto pictures, Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Exhibit C:
I intended this to be a wallpaper for my Android, but the dimensions are way off. So this is nothing more than something to look out I guess.
I took CreatorGX's Probe vector art and made it into an iPhone 5 wallpaper. The dimensions are all correct. I only added the blue background and the "beep boop"
So that's it. Just some things that I wanted to share. They aren't very good, but here they are. Don't kill me.

It's great but copy/pasting quotes on some nice pictures is highly over rated imo. You should move to an other business or find your own style.

Yeah, I'm trying to find that other thing

You just started using photoshop and I think you did a pretty good job
Some things that you could look into and see if they are interesting to you:
- Recolouring black&white photos - Retouching old photos to make them look better - Removing ugly/annoying stuff from pictures that would otherwise look really good - Just fucking around; like creating birds with arms :D
These should give you alot of experience and could be quite fun to do.

Hey where can i find the original image of "Exhibit A" ?

agreed. these are cool, but this sort of style is overdone imo. something unique would be really really cool

Thanks for the suggestions, heh. I'll be gaining tons of karma on Reddit if I can do these well.

I feel as though the probe shouldn't say "beep boop" but "mel mar" instead.
Might just be my hearing issues.
Otherwise, pretty - except the text is insanely hard to read on the life is not quotes about life one.
|
These weren't bad at all dude . I like the one about Life not being about quotes about life, but hey I'm just ironic like that. You should try taking your own shots, then photoshopping them, they will feel so much more your own if you do; I promise you that .

I am a great dude, thank you. :D
As simple as they are, and as it was to make them, I know you put a great deal of thought into them. Even something as simple as adding "bleep bloop", I know you considered what you could have done and what else would look good. Half of the process is imagining what could be. They are good first forays into this kind of work and I encourage you to push yourself further with your works.
Also, even if this is slightly old, just as a favor to me, could you link to the source for my Probe piece for everyone in the OP? :3
