Im not really sure if Rain is top3 protoss currently. I feel like he mainly benefited from innovative thinking in the first period of the kespa transition but his mechanics are not as solid as some other top-players (but still very good) and he's actually become very predictable it seems.

Well, one thing I didn't like was how Rain kept on warping in units over and over again instead of just positioning properly. It felt a bit like he was defending movement with resources...

I don't think so. Its more like the meta game changed. If you choose to macro a game against a top Terran you give the controle away. You are getting a puppet somehow.

Being a Protoss player I know how Rain felt, against the threat of drops from multiple fronts my multitasking gets really stretched to its limits, so I tend to hit the panic button and just warp in units. You're right though, Protoss players need to learn how to anticipate and position units better rather than rely on warp-ins all the time.

I would love to get my hands on that replay. I cannot even imagine what his FPV looks like.

Oh Rain definitely isn't a top 3 protoss anymore. Top 3 kespa toss, with maybe sOs as the top of that list.
Rain still doesn't hold me as stronger than Parting, Squirtle and MC though. I mean maybe he still is up there, but he just looks so far from the near invincible kespa player that stormed into OSL and GSL last year.

good luck against those turbo boost medivacs...
Though you are somewhat right. if he had like his core army in the front, in between nat and 3rd, and blink stalkers in the main it could have worked better. Who knows.

Rains reactions to the drops were a lot slower than I would've expected from a player like him. He's certainly not the best protoss, even if he's somewhere near the top. Amazing play from Flash though, never seen such flawless macro behind such hyper aggressive multi prong drops. Makes me feel worthless as i float 1k doing a simple banshee harass

I don't think that many people take a list with ForGG at 11th too seriously.
