Just curious, what's the problem you're having with GFWL? I hear a lot of hate over it but it's never given me any problems... It's not like you even have to mess with the GFWL interface at all in the game since the online features are so unique.

It really seems like everyone has a slightly different problem with it. Personally, I had never had any problems with it until last week, when I reinstalled AE and it refused to patch.

Getting error messages when I try to log onto it so im having to troubleshoot now. Point is that DRM like this isn't needed at all. They could just let it run through steam but no, lets add another fucking program on top of it for no reason other than to annoy customers. ~_~
To be more precise, it lets me log in but it tells me I need an update and that it can't download it.

gfwl is so stupid sometimes, i remember having huge problems when playing age of empires online because i couldnt add it from the shop or something (needed to do that for another bugfix) because it was free to play.
And i also had some update that didnt want to load at all.
i feel for you, i simply refuse to buy any more gfwl games, way too buggy.

I bought mark of the ninja, but find no ways to play with my arcade stick. I can't rebind the controls ingame, and when I use JoyToKey, hte game thinks i'm using keyboard + mouse and there's no way to rebind the mouse buttons

Is it a PS3 stick? Some PS3 peripherals aren't recognized on PCs without certain chipsets. You can try your luck with a Chinese program called MotioninJoy which is what I use for Dark Souls. If you add it as a "360 controller emulator" device it might pick it up properly (this is what I have to do for Dark Souls).

Civ is a singleplayer game. Played way over 100hrs and never even tried to play MP. MP is just terribad!

Nowadays I can hardly sink so many hours into a singleplayer. I played a lot of games of that type so I know what are they about. At this time of the year I can play a bit with my brothers (like we used to when we were young) so we pick up a mix of old and new titles and play together. We wanted to check the new Civilisation, what's wrong with that? Instead we played openttd, worked flawlessly (and it's free).
