No, the exact same was said for Parting Squirtle when MVP won last time. They were dominating UNBELIEVABLY hard, harder than Rain has been doing. Squirtle didn't drop a single fucking map. They were crushing favorites, and nobody, besides the most diehard MVP fans thought he even stood a chance of taking a map. But nope, MVP rolled them because thats what he does. Time and time again he proves us wrong, because he's a winner. And winners win. Parting lost because he got overconfident. Squirtle lost because he choked under pressure.
Rain is a veteran in a different way though. Yes, it's his first time in anything big in SC2, but he's got the BW experience that the others lacked on a top level. I'm fairly confident Rain will stand up for himself in a way that the other tosses were unable to, and quite frankly that's all he needs.

" Parting lost because he got overconfident "
So you play worse when you get overconfident or what? If that's the excuse It's a pretty pitiful one.

When you get overconfident you react badly to unforeseen losses and in general, you will not take your opponent seriously enough to adequately prepare.

The BW experience means nothing. Plenty of veterans lack the mental discipline that Rain possesses right now, and this is the same case in every sport.

If Parting didn't take Mvp seriously that's laughable, I refuse to believe that.

I find that "Squirtle choked" excuse really stupid. He was 3-0 down and came back to 3-3 thats not choking under pressure. More like playing unbelievably good under pressure... Anyways, Rain has been playing really well, but it looks like royal roaders will always be doomed to lose so i think Mvp has this .

It's just as laughable when K-Brad starting feeling himself in the SF4:AE finals at Season's Beatings and almost got downloaded by Infiltration? Or when Life didn't prepare for his Code A match and got stomped by Leenock? You underestimate how much overconfidence can cloud your judgment, and Mvp was not one of the favorites in that season. People thought that his injuries were too big of an obstacle to overcome. Even Mvp was not that confident in his interviews and Parting is known for being cocky. Remember that the series happened just after Mvp failed to win the NVIDIA Gaming Festival (which should have been a freebie given the competition there) and he was looking incredibly weak in the months leading up to it.

When people play overconfident they tend to do things they normally wouldn't do. I would just call that the reality of the situation and not an excuse, let alone a pitiful one.

Lord Mvp cares about his subjects so much, what a kind king. Probably just pink eye. Nothing serious, but you still can't really play with it. Translations are tough. For all we know, the original says "IMHorror decided to become a pirate."
Hahahaha, how awesome would that be. He actually does look like a pirate to me:

Remember when MVP beat Naniwa in ro4 (if I'm not mistaken)? He realizes his wrist problems and when someone is in a better condition than him. And also the weaknesses and strengths of Protoss/Terran early game. I don't think he will allow for rain to take advantage of them
Although, Rain is 10x more solid than Naniwa looked back then, and any of the other three. Except Parting maybe, but a player who is on such a dominant streak can be shaken if it doesn't go his way very easily.

As much as I want this (them being my two favorite players left), Taeja really isn't a force to be counted out like that. I would give rain a better shot against taeja than MVP though. On second thought, Taeja has showed some tvt weakness recently notably going down 0-2 to forgg.
