This is a rather short blog entry.
Now, with the Kespa players finally join into the SC2 battles, with the expansion on the horizon and with a really stacked GSL Code-S tournament, I have the feeling that it finally begins.
With "it" I mean the epicness. The stories.
We are not there yet, of course. But I think that in some years, this will be considered the point of no return: SC2 has established itself, there is some history, the level of play now leads to watchable games in great numbers.
I remember a handful of Fruitdealer's, Nestea's and later Dongraegu's games from the earlier days, plus some very few notable other games. But the last weeks in GSL, OSL and MLG brought quite a lot of good games. Crazy base races, great mind games, excellent executions.
It's is a flamboyant statement, but I think it is true that previous Code-S tournaments had a number of jobbers in there, and a number of players which were almost unknown. Those days are over. Now one can tell something about every single Code-S player. But even better, we have another regular premium Korean SC2 tournament now, the Starleague.
I cannot miss a single one of those games. It's a good time to be into Starcraft.

We are not there yet, to have the quality of BW games, but it should be clear by now that we are getting there.
SC2 will not (and should not!) mimic every aspect of BW, as the genre needs development. So, Starcraft in general (as a franchise) is in a good shape. The players make the game enjoyable to watch and the playerbase is unified by now. Given the fast improvement of Jaedong and other BW legends, I expect great games in the coming years.
And with two Korean premium leagues now (or again) I think we can expect higher production values and even greater story lines.

Proleauges are just so much fun to watch and in a matter of weeks there will be no more BW proleauge and BW pretty much wont exist anymore
But on the bright side, SC2 seems to be picking up, the games the kespa players have played have been the most exciting games of Star2 that i have seen in a long long time.
Then could anyone forget, DOTA2! the international has been sick, i can honestly say that i have never been this excited to watch a tournament.

Damn shame there probably won't be any bonjwas in sc2 because the skill cap is so low. I won't expect to be seeing one dominant player like in bw.

You made a typo in the title : it should be "good time to be into SC2" instead of "starcraft"
