So anyway, I was thinking if any of you guys share the same music tastes as I do? Numerous music threads in TL have been excellent, but not enough to satisfy my hunger for epic music.
Would you guys mind sharing with me what you consider the epitome of music? Because I sure will :D

As a musician I always encourage people to watch masters at work. If you really want to understand the epitome of music, you won't find it in any "popular" music. I am a rock musician, thats what i listen to most of the time and there are many amazing musicians that write and play rock music but they are always at their best when performing and writing music that is written as a musical exercise and not as a song to be sold to their fans.
If you want to know the epitome of music, this is somewhere close. A true master at work playing a song written by a true master and one of the greatest composers of all time. Bach wrote music not to be famous or rich but because it was his passion and his challenge in life. This piece never fails to fill me with renewed passion for my art, especially when played by Yoyo Ma.
