Your opinions about Naniwa's personality and past are not relevant here because all we know is that Naniwa left Quantic on good terms (and please don't say "no thats just PR they're covering something up"). Therefore you're bringin drama into a place it wasn't called for, so you're a drama queen. Even if you say something ostensibly on topic but then throw in a jab ("will be interesting to see where he goes but I don't think any teams will want him"), you're a drama queen. You are the reason people complain about this community and you are the reason pros and casters avoid the forums like the plague. So I hope you're proud that you've hopped onto the community's cancerous tumor even while calling yourself a fan of SC2. Please unfurl your panties and stop pretending to have reasonable and legitimate things to say. The mature thing to do is resist your urge to make a negative post. I can have any opinion I like, thanks. That line doesn't even mean anything. I can have an opinion that your opinion is wrong. You can have an opinion that my opinion on your opinion is wrong. At the end of the day, opinions are utterly useless and not really worth anything to anyone but the person behind the opinion - if they have nothing of substance to back it up with. On August 01 2012 04:17 IPA wrote: I can also express it articulately. I think the fact that Naniwa jumps from team to team in a matter of months is symptomatic of a problem with the player, rather than the teams. This is an extremely superficial reasoning with an even more so superficial conclusion. There is no reason at all why the problem would not lie in "teams" rather than the player. Especially given the fact that the player has publicly proven to be committed, hard working, and delivers results - whereas "teams", on the other hand, are much more shady in their nature, and appear to be more marketing companies than competitive teams that they try to present themselves as. In reality, the problem is that neither side really ever wanted the qualities of the other, or at least they didn't want them sufficiently enough to be able to tolerate the weaknesses. Signing committed, hard working and successful players is actually secondary to signing a marketable player that can promote your sponsors well and give them maximum exposure. On the other hand, Nani doesn't want to be a sponsor sweetheart and be a part of a team with no bond or substance (basically Quantic to him was more a sponsor than a team). He wants to become the best and be surrounded by people who want the same both for themselves (as players), and for their players (as a real team would). On August 01 2012 04:17 IPA wrote: It speaks to a lack of loyalty and emotional/professional immaturity. Lack of loyalty, perhaps. But then again, it is questionable whether most of the teams he's been a part of deserve any loyalty besides merely fulfilling the terms of the contract. I personally don't see why businesses (which is all that they are) would deserve any degree of genuine respect and loyalty. One could argue that being prepared to pursue your own goals and ambitions in the way you believe is correct regardless of the price you must pay is also a sign of maturity, as well as one of strong personal integrity. I realize there will always be Naniwa apologists and so I will simply say you are of course entitled to your opinion. That is mighty generous of you, but I really need neither the permission nor encouragement (whatever the intent was) to have an opinion. It's just that I'd rather deal in facts instead, while you seem to prefer running away from them!
I based my initial (and current) opinion on facts actually. Or at least informed conjecture, which is the best we can hope for in the murky world of esports. Naniwa jumps teams; Naniwa often acts like a spoiled child in games (BM, etc.); Naniwa's reasons for leaving are often evasive and vague. For these reasons, I feel like the problem lies in Naniwa's development as a person, and his (lack of) loyalty, rather than any of the plethora of teams he has left.
I also don't root for him because of this. How was that?

Hope he'll find a team that will allow him to stay in Korea soon! GL Nani!

Are people seriously arguing over arguing over arguing over opinions of opinions of opinions now? :3

If you had a team (im guessing with a couple of masters players with some decent solid-ish results) and you could get naniwa your profile as a team would increase 100-fold because of it being him.
OT: i think naniwa should probably go independent for a while (if he can). He does struggle to handle himself in the public eye and its a real shame. I just dont think he's a force (personality wise) that quantic would have managed for much longer. However if naniwa continues to play he'll continue to draw attention becuase of his quality play, IdrA saying he'd be done in e-sports is bollocks and pretty much because IdrA doesn't like him.

Nani has been very Bm as of late, Trash talking zergs who been owning him in TSL's ect
He need to change his tune and attitude. He crys "zerg imba" Now when he loses to a up comming player whos zerg. He threw a large fit when Recco beat him, he stated "you only won because ur zerg" Nani needs to grow up.

Are you daft? Have you even read the previous pages? Please don't tell people to grow up when you can't even form a coherent sentence.

On a related note, as a spectator I'd much rather watch and learn about someone like Naniwa than Idra. Idra talks and talks and he's irrelevant in the scene. Nani talks but he's in GSL Code S, twice making it to Ro8.
EG does a great job marketing itself. Their players are great at public speaking. And maybe because of that they have as much or more value than Naniwa as a player. But as again, as a spectator, I'd much rather watch someone like Naniwa play. He has a drive to be the best, and while he does mess up his PR at time, it adds flavour.
Like Tasteless said, this community is pretty bad at times so it's no wonder that many of you are fabricating drama.

Honestly, this seems to be one of the more realistic scenarios presented in this thread.
