i despise real patriotism, but that's just me. But even a patriotic Swede could say, that in his opinion Naniwa is not a good representation of his land because of all his bm and trouble he makes.
I always get a bit confused when people talk like that, as if Naniwa is someone who is routinely bad mannered and caused trouble wherever he goes, because, well, he isn't, and he hasn't. If you look at the incidents he's had, most of them are fairly harmless and not nearly as frequent as some people seem to believe. I'm not blind, I'm perfectly aware Naniwa does stupid crap every now and then (thumbing down Nestea, probe rushing, etc), and critisizing him for that is reasonable, but with the amount of flak he's getting you'd think he's done something far worse.
i'm not really talking about Naniwa here, i used him as an example, why not everybody from his country has to support him and that you can be unbiased.
I'm kinda sad to see Naniwa leave Quantic, but after Destiny left Sase is the only one left for me to like Quantic. I know both Naniwa and Destiny are a little controversial but I actually like both of them for their unique personalities. I hope Naniwa can find a good new team!
Naniwa "Despite people’s popular belief, I have no ill feelings towards Quantic, nor do they have any ill feelings towards me," NaNiwa told GameSpot. "Usually when people say these words, they don’t mean it, but I believe I’m known as a guy who’s 'no bulls***.' I’m very grateful for the time I had in Quantic, but I felt that I wanted to value my own happiness above not doing anything about it, so I decided to try my luck in other places. Quantic kept everything they promised me and me to them. I sincerely wish them the best!"
And yet in the real talk episode he says some promises were not kept
Why do I feel like half of this thread is the standard anti-fans trying to stir things up in the least controversial topic ever.. ^^
And why do I feel like the other half is from fanboys rushing to the rescue when no rescue is needed? -___-
Swedes can't have an unbiased opinion of one of their top players. Would you not defend someone leading the way for your country?
Could an American have an unbiased opinion for one of their top players?
More likely than a Swede tbh. The most patriotic country imo, yet they all claim they are the least patriotic.
Hey! Only in sports!
Nah personally I see it more of concerning politics and status.
hmm an american telling us swedes that we are patriotic... i am having a hard time taking that seriously... but i might be biased )))))
tbh I dont know what news get outside of sweden about us really, but I wouldnt say we are any more patriotic then most other countrys. But ofc I root abit more for any player from sweden its just natural.

I was a bully to him? Was that before or after we were joking about him joining EG and him asking me where his contract was? Those that "act" like they know something, generally do not.

it's because of your big muscles, it makes you look like a bully

Uhm.. In Sweden being called a patriot is a not so subtle way of saying that you're a stone cold nazi with a concentration camp in the back yard. The only persons I've met so far who've called themselves patriots are skin heads. Waving a flag or having one at home is frowned upon. There's a fairly strong sporting tradition though. You cheer for the team that's closest located to you / the team you grew up cheering for and never change. Apart from that, the general opinion of American society is quite low, so that might add to that view of Swedes being condescending when it comes to political concerns.
Edit. Obviously I'm speaking from personal experience and am not some kind of voice of the people or shit like that.

I just figured the irrational hate for that guy doesn't exactly need more fuel. No harm in that, is there?
I mean have the haters gotten so impatient they can't even wait for him to fuck up in some minor and insignificant way before they start bitching? They just jump at anything that has his name written on it now?
The hate isn't really irrational if you've known much of what naniwa has done and how he's acted/acts.

Well it is actually with the possible exception of this parallel universe that is the sc2 community.

why are you browsing TL forums instead of watching the Olympics @ the stadium you old bugger???
TOTALLLLLLLY not surprised hahaha. It was only a matter of time before Quantic "released" Naniwa. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, although I have a feeling it's going to be hard for him to find another home team; I suspect he'll play independently for at least 6 months until he can get some momentum going in tournaments.

How did you find this thread? It was like a week old. Did you just search "Naniwa leaves" or something?

Unless you know something that the general public does not - yes, it is very much irrational.
