Naniwa
"Despite people’s popular belief, I have no ill feelings towards Quantic, nor do they have any ill feelings towards me," NaNiwa told GameSpot. "Usually when people say these words, they don’t mean it, but I believe I’m known as a guy who’s 'no bulls***.' I’m very grateful for the time I had in Quantic, but I felt that I wanted to value my own happiness above not doing anything about it, so I decided to try my luck in other places. Quantic kept everything they promised me and me to them. I sincerely wish them the best!"

And yet in the real talk episode he says some promises were not kept

Why do I feel like half of this thread is the standard anti-fans trying to stir things up in the least controversial topic ever.. ^^

Not going back to startale, confirmed from both Slasher and Naniwa himself. Not sure if anyone confirmed the gom house but people seem to assume that's where he is going.

He said that during the merge of quantic and vile, he agreed with quantic on new terms, which vile rejected.
That's how I percieved it as well.

I don't recall the exact wording, but I think Naniwa said in real talk that he didn't want to do the Gom house thing again.

Swedes can't have an unbiased opinion of one of their top players.
Would you not defend someone leading the way for your country?

I just figured the irrational hate for that guy doesn't exactly need more fuel. No harm in that, is there?

I mean have the haters gotten so impatient they can't even wait for him to fuck up in some minor and insignificant way before they start bitching? They just jump at anything that has his name written on it now?

Come on, now you are being a bit unreasonable/silly.
Sweden's sc2 community is much smaller and more tightly knit than the big markets like America and Korea.
If some1 from your state, county, region is a top level player you wouldn't have an unbiased opinion.

More likely than a Swede tbh. The most patriotic country imo, yet they all claim they are the least patriotic.

And why do I feel like the other half is from fanboys rushing to the rescue when no rescue is needed? -___-

I just figured the irrational hate for that guy doesn't exactly need more fuel. No harm in that, is there?

I mean have the haters gotten so impatient they can't even wait for him to fuck up in some minor and insignificant way before they start bitching? They just jump at anything that has his name written on it now?

From earlier in the thread:

Maybe because he get in the spotlight for the wrong reason.
You get a little less hate when you actually win tournament.

Eh, he's won tournaments and (big shocker) the hate haven't disappeared...

Meh... He gets the same amount of hate as other pros, it's just that the fanboys white knight even harder for him and it causes massive flame wars creating the illusion of more hate than there really is.

If it wasn't for all the extreme fanboys constantly attacking any who said a single bad thing about NaNi, this thread wouldn't even be half as long.

Swedes can't have an unbiased opinion of one of their top players.
Would you not defend someone leading the way for your country?

Could an American have an unbiased opinion for one of their top players?

We have top players?

so Naniwa can just do all the crap he wants, let's say, steal a puppy from an old widow with 1 leg and the swedes would still defend him? Everything he does is = leading the country?
I'm just attacking your reasoning

Come on, now you are being a bit unreasonable/silly.
Sweden's sc2 community is much smaller and more tightly knit than the big markets like America and Korea.
If some1 from your state, county, region is a top level player you wouldn't have an unbiased opinion.

i despise real patriotism, but that's just me.
But even a patriotic Swede could say, that in his opinion Naniwa is not a good representation of his land because of all his bm and trouble he makes.

naniwa's bm is basically harmless. he never really makes personal attacks. his bm is always directed at balance, tournament organizers, and so on. idra, on the other hand, routinely calls people 'fucking faggots' and he's loved for it.

for the record i don't really care about either. i respect naniwa because he is good though.

More likely than a Swede tbh. The most patriotic country imo, yet they all claim they are the least patriotic.

I always get a bit confused when people talk like that, as if Naniwa is someone who is routinely bad mannered and caused trouble wherever he goes, because, well, he isn't, and he hasn't. If you look at the incidents he's had, most of them are fairly harmless and not nearly as frequent as some people seem to believe. I'm not blind, I'm perfectly aware Naniwa does stupid crap every now and then (thumbing down Nestea, probe rushing, etc), and critisizing him for that is reasonable, but with the amount of flak he's getting you'd think he's done something far worse.

Nah personally I see it more of concerning politics and status.
