lol, no offense but I am sure Slayers did their research. But besides playing to your opponent's weakness, you play to your strengths as well. Ryung is a TvT specialist. Coca and Puzzle are GSTL monsters. The only questionable call was Min but it was likely he was prepare as the sniper.
GSTL means a lot to the teams (maybe even more than individual leagues) so I am sure Slayers studied all the FXO players through and through. Gumiho just played well and there was some mistakes by Slayers players. For some poster on TL to claim Slayers didn't do any research is laughable.

You sound pretty bitter indeed. Game 1 was not "P good" like you said, it was simply one of the greatest games of all-time, imo the best game I've ever seen.
Game 2 was at least partially entertaining and close, it wasn't the highest standard game but it was pretty good. Game 3 was super exciting. Yes blabla coca made mistakes but so what? this is the GSTL finals infront of a massive crowd on a beach, the players are under huge pressure and there will be mistakes. The only thing that annoyed me about game 3 was the 2 scv pulls near the end, obviously he never knew about the second base but it just seemed rather weird to me lol.
With the last two games, people were just impressed with how well gumiho was continually playing, as you said storylines are important and his allkill was extremely impressive considering how long some of the games went. His stamina, composure, strategies and execution were all extremely impressive to watch over the course of the series. The final game was not epic and close,but it was indeed extremely solid tvp play all game long.

Thank you to all those of kind words, and to those who watched what for me was the most entertaining GSTL finals I have seen (bias).
I think there is a general misconception that Gumiho did this on his own. He executed it on his own yes... but our team has been practicing rigorously together for the past month to get to this point. The builds Gumiho executed were from practice with our team members (and a few from other teams, thanks startale, mvp, nshoseo sry if i miss anyone). Its a joint effort which cannot be done without the support and help of your peers. Supreme, choya, hell, all making phonecalls to arrange practice games for the players etc when we cant do it internally.
Anyway, I am happy I got to have this experience and I am so unbelievably proud of the FXO team members for their composure and manner (even though I tried to make them be a little bm they refused). They are truly growing into some very mature, professional young men.
Thanks again to everyone who were pushing this thread to almost 280 pages, it helps the industry bucket loads to have this kind of interest in the game and you have no idea how much I appreciate it.

To win a championship you have to win more than just the grand finals, you have to win a lot to get there, and no team can only manage that with just 1 good player. Just because SlayerS weren't good enough to take out FXO's first player shouldn't in anyway lessen the feat of the team and of Gumiho! And how do you get a team of great players, well normally a good coach, management and sponsors are required!
Gogo FXO! Those were some really interesting games. Although the final result 5-0, they were not 1 sided games, Gumiho and Slayers fought hard! Had a great night at Sydney's Barcraft at the Paragon. I think the finals threads are shrinking as more people head out to watch the games at bars

That's basically the sickest finals I have seen in SC2. The games were really really interesting with completely different tactics from game to game and the execution was top-notch the whole way. Leenock carried FXO into the finals with the three victories and even beating his nemesis Jakji and the Gumiho steps up and does an all-kill? That's just awesome!

Just on the strength of the first 3 games and GUmiho getting an all-kill with Terran during one of their down turns makes this the best GSTL finals. Season 2 with Slayers vs MVP has been dethroned as the best because the quality of the best games from that series don't measure up to the technical skill we saw in the first 3 games. An all-kill with so many close games is a very rare thing to see.

Yeah, I was watching the first game with my girlfriend and we were both sure MMA had the game, then looked at the supply and both of us went: huh? That first game was brilliant entertainment and shows how dynamic SC2 can be. The game on Atlantis Spaceship is another one that was just awesome. Thor/Hellion/Viking/Raven with seeker missile? Yes please!

yah there's a lot to play for in kr these days, gumi has wcs ro32, wcg qualifiers today, gsl up/downs, etc all quite soon =)

I imagine if not Gumiho it has to be Leenock. Else Lucky to attempt IPL once more or Tear to potentially have a breakout? Leenock seems the more obvious bet.
