If this deal goes down I don't want to hear anyone blame players for the next lock out. That S & T in bold means Brook Lopez would be getting signed to a max deal in Orlando. Yes, that's Eric Gordon/Roy Hibbert territory.
Billy King, one of the worst GMs ever is really going to swindle multiple teams? Seriously? Orlando lost Ryan Anderson, resigned Jameer Nelson and Jason Richardson (both not close to Anderson's value) and will try and rebuild with Brook Lopez on a max deal?
I seriously hate NBA GMs.

Dude, Luke Walton going to the Magic? Magic automatically will have the best bench in the world now. :DDD
But still, srs. I want Howard so bad with the Lakeshow. Get Bynum and either Gasol or Artest out. Srs.

Apparently the picks ORL would be getting would be two 1st rounders from BK and one lottery-protected 1st rounder from LAC. I don't see how those picks are attractive unless they expect the Clippers to lose CP3 and/or the BK big 3 to fail miserably. Barring one or two of those, that's going to be three non-lottery picks for sure, possibly as low as 2nd or 3rd from the last.
CLE is supposedly getting a 1st rounder from BK, which again doesn't seem attractive at all unless they're expecting the teamup between Deron, JJ and D12 to go poorly.
Why would the Clippers want Marshon after just agreeing to deals with Crawford and Billups? He's no SF, and the backcourt rotation is full with CP3, Bledsoe, Crawford and Billups.
|
He's just backcourt depth. And unlike Crawford or Billups, he's a long player with good size. I don't think he's particularly good, but even if the Clips lose Paul and tank out, our pick is protected. It's like a 0 risk move.
|
But you can get back court depth without giving up a pick. I think Orlando is just being dumb right now. Trade with Houston and load up on picks, hope to get #1 and get a Kyrie Irving.
|
Brooks is just going from one great PG to another, must feel pretty good.. Hope he takes over for Randy Foye and gets playing time!

The pick is just Brooks minus his rookie year and 1.2 million bucks. It's fine. If you can turn a 18th-22nd pick into a guy who plays more than 10 minutes on your team, that's not bad. You aren't exactly shooting for the stars..but it's not bad.

i dont understand where the knicks got the money to resign novak

They can go over "the cap" to resign their own Free Agents

He really is that good though.

Knicks need to load up on wing defenders, not size. Whatever.

thank the lord toney douglas is gone, does this mean kidd is getting the MLE instead of the mini exception? cuz that'd be pretty fucked up

Didn't feel like I knew enough of their roster (I know you a Knicks fan ) to comment on it but it is f-ing true. They supposed to keep Smith, Jeffries, and Lin now. Good luck Knicks.
edit:Knicks giving almost 9 million/year now for Camby and Novak..hmm.

hold on...who the hell is the Knicks starting Shooting Guard and back up? holy crap...
|
And they are paying Toney Douglas salary in HOU too...lol
|
Swapping Dwight for max money Brook Lopez and 3 mid first rounders..

Shumpert when he's healthy, otherwise they are still hoping to keep JR Smith as well. I doubt they will match Landry Fields, so their back up will definitely be pretty shitty.
|
Well yea Shumpert is out till January though. Are they going to start JR Smith then? They REALLY need to go into the playoffs with a top seed to avoid facing Miami/Indy/Boston in the first round again.
