Okay... I'll amend it to "relatively good way". It's not a good way, but it's rarely going to be totally off.

high apm helps you in very fast playing. Doesnt mean you are not fast using low apm.

Tsunami had an apm of 80-90 being zerg. How many people do U want me to point out that would have gotten raped by him even with much higher apm ??? (when he was still playing)
I think there isn't much to say about his micro, and I still don't see many zergs using the zerg magic users as much and as well as he did.

What is the point of naming people who won with low APM? Again, the argument isn't about whether or not APM equates with skill. It's a component of skill, and one worth improving if you want to improve your game. It doesn't count for everything, but having a high APM does go a long way in helping you play at the highest level.
And please don't label Tsunami as your example of a player with low APM who beat people with higher APM. There have been threads and threads about this guy and why he isn't as good as many of his fans think he is. I don't want to get into it, and this thread doesn't need to get into it. And, AGAIN, it's not the point of this discussion of APM anyways.

You need to be ABLE to go into high speed ;( Not having high APM might just mean that you don't click constantly, but there's a REASON to do that- keeping your hands moving, increasing reaction speed.. Now a player with 100 apm can be as fast just not as consistant as a 300 apm player but I'd say the 300 apm player is most likely going to have a better reaction time -..-
Btw, I think trying to improve your apm is a good idea When you realize you wont go that much faster by just trying to go fast and then play normally you'll play much faster!

Tsunami was fucking slow and fucking overrated.

That's a strange way of practicing -_- Before bwcharts people could also get better you know?
APM is way over rated, you should try to improve your skills (practicing macro and micro) and see if the apm goes up not improve your apm and hope your skills go up...

Why does practising apm have to mean that I do NOT practice micro macro? Where's the logic behind that? I try to do everything FASTER and BETTER. Which increase my apm as well as my EFFICENCY :/

If I get under 150 apm I'm not happy since then I know I wasn't concentrating -_- It's a good way to help you practice etc :o And it's good to set up goals etc.

Then you're practicing micro and macro not apm. i agree your apm will probably go up by itself but the goal of practicing is having better macro and micro not having higher apm. Apm is just stats on the game, it is not a goal by itself

What I mean is, I play a couple of games with friends where I try to go REALLLLY fast, and just think about that. Then I play normally and I can do all the things faster

APM is not speed
If U produce in your gates really fast then do nothing u have good speed but low apm.
if u use ot keys 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 and don't do anything with them U have good apm but your speed efficiency suxx.
APM == action/min wich means it counts all the useless actions and all the bad actions. U can not compare it to skills or to speed.
PS: what I call bad actions is moving your units to the wrong place buy miscliking for exemple. that's an action but that's doesn't go with what players call speed.
