I seem to be the only person who get excited by the Terran changes, with your comments, and if Widow Mines are the same or similar in the real game, then I'm pretty sure I'm gonna change to Terran. And go Mine Tank Raven every game regardless of matchups As for the warhound, well fuck it. People need to focus on what you said in this blog, rather than discussing whether it is effective in its current form. Whats more important is its design makes it inherently gimped vsZ, it's a purely A move unit, it ignores position, its microless, it looks goofy etc etc etc. I like pretty much everything in the new HotS (and in the case of the Swarm Host, the Widow Mine and the Oracle, I love them), but I hate the Warhound. | ||

With things like widow mines and viper protoss could lose their armies more easily--which would incentivize a playstyle that's already happening too much (2 base all in timings, or turtle up to 200/200). Giving the mothership core, at least theoretically, allows a protoss player to more viably leave his base earlier in the game without it often being a bad decision considering the new units in HoTS. Though perhaps energize should be removed. | ||

I like the idea of the Mothership core, but if it doesn't have any prerequisites, it's seem obvious that it would be built and then used to abuse the mass chrono boost. How much energy does it cost to turn into a cannon/recall and how long does the cannon ability last? I am excited about the widow mine because the video barely showed us what the widow mine could do and left me with a lot of questions. For example, it wasn't abundantly clear whether widow mines do damage to your own troops or whether both players could see the timer. I now know that they don't do friendly fire and both players are permitted to see the timer. I don't understand the warhound. It feels like this unit is going ruin TvT, one of my favorite MUs. Instead of rewarding careful and well-devised play, you can just A-move into seige lines with Warhounds. I don't get it. I think if Zergs are already very strong with their limited units in Wol, then adding strong units and a variety of them will only make them ridiculously strong. Although again, it's so hard to tell what impact the widow mine will have on the game, since it appears this is really the Terran's all around best unit in Hots. | ||

At first i did not like the look of the Warhound from blizzcon , i thought it looked like some lame Scv on stilts. But seeing it in action especially with those bouncy looking missles looked pretty cool. I dont really get the point where you are saying they wont be built in TVZ. I mean that could very well be the case, but so what i say... Not every unit needs to be built in every matchup. From what i can see warhounds will have heavy use in TvT and TvP. Who cares if they are useless in TvZ. ( my guess is there are not).. Some huge marine/warhound timing might be very devasting lol but the mothership core might help protoss with that ( again we should not really come to conclusions to fast) Point is im actually glad its not going to be in everymatchup as that to me promotes stale gameplay. Anyway..I dont want to spend all day talking about HOTS since it will only be theory craft. If you imagin how we thought some stuff would have played out in WOL compared to how they play out now, we would say we are such fools to think we can predict the future. All i want to say is, I was worried terran was going to be seriously gimped for heart of the swarm.The impression i was getting was that they werent looking to add much to terran because in the Past terran was doing to well at GSL and nobody felt they deserved extra units. I was looking to switch races because the previously mentioned shredder unit was an absolutely terrible idea and the current style of terran play has gotten to retarded for my liking. But because of this 1 unit. This one fucking unit blizzard might give terran ( the widow mine). I breathed a sign of relief , Its everything And more i wanted for terran. I am especially happy it targets AIR units as well. And the warhound imo is pretty cool.. As much as i found tvt to be pretty good matchup. ITs fucking boring to play my god. I sigh on the load screen when i get 2 terrans in a row. This warhound unit is my saviour to breaking tank stalemates. It will be funner to watch as well. If a protoss wants to mass up a 200/200 army on me and a-move me. I got news for them. Eat the warhound deathball LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL Looks like i will be sticking with terran in HOTS. If not i switch to zerg ( depending on what they do with the Mine) | ||

Such as: Swarmhost and Broodlords. Will players just never go Broodlord ever? What are the costs between the 2 units? How similar are they in siege effective-ness? Viper's Abduct and Infestor's Neural Parasite. What are range on the Viper. Would be great to know thanks in advance. Thanks for the write-up, it is great to hear that people feel HOTS is going into a good direction. More OP fun units instead of boring A Move all in death-ball. | ||

Its something wich would make it less 1A heavy but still keep his streingh. I think they did it to make it viable for low level players who already have diffiultys if theres one or two ghost in your marine army. (they cant stim if they just make a selct box over the army) But still i believe it would be fine if you group your units properly. Very nice write i enjoyed reading it. And let me guess you dont like Toss overall and you struggle in TvP it seemed a bid biased there from time to time still very balanced view overall. keep on doing this its nice to see someone enjoying HotS | ||
