GLOURIOUS! lol i'm not going to get into this argument here, but are you really comparing guys who practice 2 games at once, with starcraft 2 right now being at about 60-70% of their practice for the past 2-3 months, against players who have played full-time SC2 well over a year, and more of than not 2? PM if you want an argument, i'm not derailing this thread.

EG has a high budget but they are overspending on mediocre players. Who do you think should get cut? Keep in mind, it is not just about player performance, it is also about marketeability. It's unfortunate, but the funding comes largely from sponsors, who want the good marketing and exposure. With that in mind, it's very possible that a guy like Incontrol is worth more to EG than JYP.

And a Korean training house, don't forget the Korean training house. Honestly I love Geoff (iNcontroL) but I think his best role for the team would be to step back and coach. He is a really good coach and a great motivator, he already kind of acts as the team dad so why not make that his permanent role at EG. (also he should still cast cause he is a really good host and caster) ~YourFriend

Seriously though, EG played really bad today. And I agree, they need to replace some players to build a better team. Incontrol should be the coach.

Did not expected Monster to roll over EG best lineup :| Great job by MVP though. Monster is on a tear lately after his great MLG Spring Championship run.

I think it's better to build up a following with the players you have and make small changes over time. How can a team expect to generate loyalty if all they do, as you suggest, is buy any player that gets good in another team?

Some i understand incontrol for example is important in the fact that he is out doing PR all the time but others like LZgamer and machine, i have no idea why they are still on the teams roster. Their pickups tho like JYP, puma and tzain i think are good pickups and not all that inefficient as you put it.

EG seems to be good at marketing itself so I don't think it'll have a problem promoting say EGStephano, EGMVP...

He's not on EG to win games. I don't think your argument has any depth, because he's already getting paid for being the team captain, team marketer, and team caster. He plays right now to expand his opportunities and make possible a better future. EG just needs to get rid of LzGamer. I'd say get rid of Machine too, but he's kinda part of the marketing family right now. Even though he's not good, he's important to the team. LzGamer is just worthless though. He's BM, he's not good enough to compete at a decent level, and he's not active in EG's marketing. He has pretty much no worth. If EG were serious about winning championships though, They'd have to completely get rid of Lz and Machine, and they'd have to focus DeMuslim more on smaller tournaments first. IdrA is pretty essential to the team, but he's going to be losing for a while longer before anything changes. Kill Lz and Machine, and recruit a huge name, and EG would be able to shape up pretty well. Invest a bunch into a 2nd huge player, and they'd be a top GSTL team.

Probably just bad luck.

Firing players because they don't deliver the best results isn't going to encourage more players to try to get into eSports in the future. If you stick by your players while they're not doing so great, maybe they'll do well down the line. Or maybe I'm wrong because if they do get good they'll just jump teams, or maybe I'm wrong because guys like Lz will never do well... but I don't think we should be talking about kicking people off teams who are trying to make a living off Starcraft. EG needs to figure out why it keeps sucking in team leagues, but kicking Lz or Machine off the team won't change that. You didn't see either of them compete today, did you? And maybe it frees up a bit of money, but EG's already been buying up any good players they can. Three of the players who competed in IPL today made it into the MLG pools, which is an amazing feat. How they were unable to stop the all-kill, I don't know... but then again, this was Monster, though before now not that well known, he did make it further than anybody EG members in the last MLG. Monster's just on fire of late (this does not mean EG should try to hire Monster. lol)
