I'd be surprised if he doesn't join Huk in Code B next season. Code S is for world class players.
Yeah, he's pretty bad. He's only top 16 ELO Ranking in Korea, higher then MC, MMA, Nestea, Losira, Puzzle, Oz, Alive, Ganzi...
Last season, let's see which world class players he defeated to make Ro4 last season. 2-1 Leenock, 2-0 Curious, 2-1 Curious, 3-0 Supernova 2-1 MVP.
Definitely doesn't deserve his spot in Code S. Dammit.

Hmm, I think you are being too hard on Hero. Code S semifinalist is nothing to scoff at. Of course a player's fans will overrate their favorite players, and since Hero has so many fans, it may seem that Hero is given too much credit. But no one can really deny that Hero is a great player, definitely top 10 Protoss in the world.

Game 1 of Byun - Hero was really amazing. Hero's storms killed almost nothing, the storm dodging was so good. Do you guys think marine tank T vs P is actually viable? He did an excellent job targeting down HTs and Collosi.

It really isn't imo other then timing attacks *high masters terran here*. Hero was not agressive enough with his storms and his army control just wasnt good. I felt he could have also won the game on cloud kingdom if he just didnt get hit so much by siege tank fire while moving back and forth and being indecisive. 1 good storm, and all the marines die. Its not worth having just a risky composition especially when collosi also do extremely well against it.

Hero played weird. Even if he was a bad p player bad toss players dont randomly send packs of stalkers to die like in curious's game his mouse control was sporatic it seems

It required amazing control, dodging storms, stimming a few marines to pick off High Templars, focus firing HT with tanks so they can't get off storms. It reminds me of Puma's marine/ghost play, amazingly strong unit composition but it requires you to play almost perfectly or you die to one AOE thing. I love the unit composition but I think right now most people can't pull it off.

damn, i was hoping hero would make it through, he had gotten the win in g2 vs curious before i had to head off to work

poor herO

Nice to see GhostKing doing well again. Although his TvP is rather cheesy. He's more like Polt who favors lower econ mass unit style. He barely upgrades too in most of his games. Despite being on the same team with MKP, he's nothing like him.
Seed looked a lot better than Hero today. His PvZ tore Curious apart. There goes Curious's top 5 Zerg in Korea title. Guy was kinda overrated and didn't polish his play enough against Code S level players. His style is OK for Code A though, where he rightfully belongs.

I agree that Hero is pretty good, but fuck ELO. It's retarded when it comes to working out whether X player is better than Y player.

If two years of GSL has proven anything it's that a lot of players can make the Ro4 or better by hitting a rich vein of form, dodging their weak match up or playing players who suck vs your race. I think Hero probably managed a combination of those things for his semi final appearance but what sets apart the true elite (MKP, DRG, MC, MMA, Nestea, MVP) is that they keep making finals, winning tournaments and being a threat in Code S across months and months and even years, frankly it seems like there's 30-40+ players capable of making the round of 4 of Code S once if the stars align for them.

wouldn't say nestea or MMA are a threat anymore.

Nestea's been slumping for a while but still made 3rd at IPL and has been Code S all three seasons this year.
MMA has won two Premier Tournaments this year alone whcih is more than Parting, Naniwa, Stephano, Squirtle, Sase, Leenock, Symbol, Nestea. Polt, Jjakji and many many other top players.
The only guys who've have better 2012's than MMA are Mvp, DRG, MKP and MC.

I would never count out MMA, Mvp made a comeback and MMA will too. It was not long ago that he won a premier tournament he's just been having some poor performances in Korea.

...
MMA won Iron Squid not too long ago got 4th at IPL4 and won the Stars War Qualifier over MKP.
Nestea got 3rd at IPL4 and Iron Squid and is the only player never to completely fall from code S.
What. the. fuck

To be fair there's so much sc2 content It's easy to forget things that happened 1-2 months ago sometimes.

Yeah, but they aren't a threat in Code S anymore in my opinion. Most of the Code S players just don't get the favorable seeding or ability to attend foreign tournaments consistently like these guys.
