FWIW Zerg didn't win an OSL for the first 4 years and between mid 2005 to mid 2011 Protoss only won one OSL. Keep in mind OSL's occurred less frequently than GSL's and of course balance complaints existed in BW too. It's still the most competitive and balanced RTS of all time.

After a few tests, 1: To emp a mothership the hitbox is quite large so unlike mutalisks you dont have to hit right on the small dot you can actually just hit near-ish the edge of the mothership. In that exact situation an emp on the mothership was probabaly a guarenteed win for MVP 2: In that engagement a ton of feedbacks went off, is there an arguement for terran emp'ing their own battlecruisers before the engagement to nullify the feedbacks. 3: Zerg have faced this situation many times. However Corruptors are 6 range vikings are 9 range. How would that range difference affect the engagement with a few vikings. 4: If going for that similar situation as a terran, will it become a "requirement" to be liberal with scans just to get information on the positioning of the mothership for possible snipe/emp. That seemed like an engagement where both players wernt really sure the specifics of what would happen or what response was needed, whether or not it becomes a staple of the matchup i do quite hope that situation gets fleshed out over the next few weeks.. I know people like to hate on Avilo around here, but he already has highlighted how to make a mass BC switch work on maps that can be easily split in two. There's really no mystery to it, the gameplan has already mostly been figured out, we just need to see more top terrans try it. The obvious candidate to make this work is Thorzain, imo here's the Avilo video So basically what MVP was missing was 1) nuke harass 2) Ghosts on recall prevention duty 3) money EMPs

MVP is a better player, that doesn't mean he has a better understanding of BCs in the lategame. One example of how Avilo has it more figured out is, with how Avilo suggests to place ghosts in key positions to prevent recalls, Squirtle would never have been able to penetrate MVP's base like he did.

I loved how the last 3 games were all amazing, and tense, and close, and all in completely different ways.

MVP did take some damage with that recall but definitely wasn't game ending. I think the patrolling ghost is brilliant though and how he compared it with the science vessel vs arbiter. MVP just missed his emp on the flanking mothership T_T Lol. It was so painful to watch as a terran player.

MVP building BCs is a habit from BW. His BCs in BW is too strong. He sure need to rethink BCs strategy in SC2 lategame.

Overall I dont think it could have gone better for GSL, epic finals and 4th time champion. It creates so much more lore and mythology and hype etc for a league to have an undisputed champion, rather than a royal roader. Years on, royal roader might be something you have to search the back of your head or liquipedia to remember, but a 4time champion will never be forgotten. Also I don't think royal roaders are good for the league generally, sure its cool, but kind of delegitimizes the work/pain others have gone through for the title.
