A player can only win (the GSL) if someone beats MVP beforehand or if they either have more experience than MVP (is that even possible?) or are in better mental shape than MVP, when playing against him. BO3 is doable, but if a set goes BO5 or BO7, it´s almost impossible to beat him.
If MVP is out of a tournament/league, your chances of winning increase dramatically. MarineKing had to learn that the hard way. He would´ve won several GSLs otherwise if it weren´t for MVP.
What amazed me is that Squirtle almost beat him, and while I thought that this is possible before the finals, I never would have thought it after I had actually seen the games.
DRG is almost in the same boat, he has a lot of experience and that counters everything. What this means is that once MVP or DRG are out, suddenly everyone can win the GSL.
Exactly. It was like that for Nestea as well a while back.
Protoss just needs to find that one guy who can provide that (PartinG is close), not buff the fuck out of the race that you suddenly have 4-5 Ps in the top 8.
For a long time the last match reminded me of flash vs jaedong were both cheesed (proxy rax vs 4pool I believe). And it came down to micro and a few decisions.

Actually it was perfect. Just like Flash v Bisu last game of proleague. Cheeses like that are always the most exciting during the final game of a series. Putting the title on the line through 5 intense minutes just makes you crazyyy.

This
That! ^ It was really amazing all the micro involved and such decision making
Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.
sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN
So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?
It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.
I was entertained.
In fact I was sure MVP lost in game 7.
Anyway, this is the finals I've been the less hyped for. I anticipated a non 4-0 serie, but I thought all games would suck hard. And even the bad games like game 1 weren't that bad as they were very tense with some critical moments (when Squirtle warped his 4 proxy stalkers), then while they're still warping he scouts the incoming medivac...that was a movie scenario =) Also the crowd was very good. GSL delivers again, forever the best ! <3

I really wonder when a Protoss will win the GSL, it's been 1 year, srsly...we'll see at the next GSL if the 3 SF protoss are gonna perform as good as they did in this one.
Your post is laughable
Top 8 of this GSL, 5 protoss, 3 zerg, 1 terran. You say "almost everytime there's gonna be a T to stop you" No, there's going to be MvP to stop you.
The top 8 of this GSL was 5 protoss and 3 terran, get your facts straight. Congrats to MVP, I knew he would probably take it. Was hoping for Squirtle but MVP is just so hard to beat in these long preparation series.

Wait, what? It was 5 toss 3 terran?
Think he means GSL rankings thus far since the new year reset.
That still doesnt explain why 5+3+1 players is top 8

to be fair, 5+3+1 = 9. So why would you even respond to him
