For a few months in 2011 I was really into the competive sc2 scene, I don't think I have any "natural" rts talent, and I never expected to be pro or anything, but for a while I was constantly playing people in the top 500 of the masters ladder. I played for my uconn csl team and did pretty well, but unfortunately I got very bored of this game. I can't really explain why, and I don't know exactly why, but competive 1v1s or gaming of any kind no longer interests me. But I still definitely play team games with friends for the social factor.
Today I matchmakered (and will continue playing) some 1v1s in SC2. The funny thing is that I don't actually play, i don't even move my workers. I'm sort of doing a social experiment where I talk to my opposing player and just see how he's doing. I'm just trying to make some casual conversation and sometimes I can learn a lot and have an awesome conversation with my opponent. I'm having a lot of fun doing this and I hope to talk to some more people tonight ^_^. I've met some awesome people and 5/5 people have been fun to talk to, no assholes so far.
I hope everyone has a good night (or day). I graduate from my university in 2 days and am just trying to enjoy myself. GL to everyone in life.
A special shoutout to jinheff and sentinel because I talked to them for the longest time and truly appreciated their company. But everyone else was awesome too!
