Yeah same here, going from 60 to 120gb. As far as I'm aware pretty much everyone is getting an increased data cap.

Please, we had one of these threads back on GosuGamers about four years ago. Do we really need another one? Seriously? (Yes, joking ^_^")
Advertised: "24 down/1 up" (EDIT: 150GB of quota, uploads COUNTED, not that that matters that much for me, at $60/month) Speedtest: 7.82Mbps down, 0.85Mbps up, ping was 29ms, but really I usually get worse results, more around 7.0 down/0.8 up/45 ms ping and that's just Speedtest. A direct and unmetered download from the server would usually come at around that speed, but right now it's peaking at about 720KBps (5.76Mbps) before gradually dropping back down. I've heard of that happening on problematic connections to distant sites but it's happening just to the ISP. I always seem to get the weird internet and program problems that no one knows how to solve and that don't have the obvious top-20 google search result solutions. The worst thing is that the weird and frustrating disconnects and other issues I've had have not been solved in the ~two years my contract with the ISP has lasted with no real solution, only seemingly sheer luck causing it to seem fine for another couple of months before it deteriorates again, I've tried three routers from them (two of the same model and one being refurbished though -_-"), the arranged cable guys have found no supposed issue and no one at Internode, despite having Australia's #1 ranking for customer support, actually has a clue what the hell to do about it or what the trouble is, which became increasingly worse with the last guy's supervisor convincing him that the problem would be solved by me fiddling with through Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections as if I wouldn't have fucking thought of that in two years of misery and numerous long over-the-phone attempts at troubleshooting with the ISP. How do they even hire people who sound so relieved and thoroughly convinced that things like that will work all of a sudden? I'm told that they are generally expected to assume by default that the customer is not knowledgeable, but it sound more like they're now HIRING people who know nothing by default (until gradually taught on the job). fmI. + Show Spoiler +That's an upper-case I, for ISP.

yup same thing for me, going from 60 to 120gb, for i think 90 bucks a month... compared to other countries were getting ripped off...but hey, what can we do? =.=
and my speeds very very similar to urs xD

And this is at its best.. come peak time, which seems to be 4pm -> 11pm I can get as low as 0.6mb down and only up to about 2mb on a good day (which is rare). This really sucks cus it means I can only watch 480p streams, sometimes I can't even watch those..
Can you believe we pay £21 per month for this shit? I do live in a small town so I know I can't really expect fibre obtic here, but to pay that much for such low speeds makes me mad. I'm trying to convince parents to move to sky, we will probably get similar speeds but at least its only £7.50 a month so I wouldn't feel so robbed!

Malaysian internet sucks donkey balls, expensive even for such low bandwidth.
|
Unlimited bandwidth + 80 TV channels + phone with 90 free international minutes = 21 USD/15 € per month.
|
10 Euro per month.
|
Residing in Spain, this is a joke, we're paying shitloads for this internet as well as there is no better one available in this small town..
I can download with a maximum of 104kb/sec...

+ Show Spoiler + I'm at the university right now
Normally it would be 2MB/s Download and about 0,15 Upload which is enough for me at the moment.

The reason is that, back in ye olde days, our countries built huge, well-developed telegraph networks of copper wire. When it came time to make the internet, people just thought "ooh, copper wire, let's use that", and ignored the fact that copper wire built for telegraphs doesn't really make the best interent connection. In Japan and Korea, they didn't have that, so they had to build a new network, based on fiber optics, specificically for internet, which works much better. umm everyone is using optic for core networks for ages now.. copper is history pretty much everywhere

I had to test against a server in Oslo... Probably faster if I could test a more local server.
I have 1gbit...
EDIT: a closer server

I pay EUR 13/month, i'm quite satisfied. I can actually make it cheaper by signing a new contract or sth, but i'm too lazy to go to the office of the provider
