I have several magical insights.
Naniwa beat a sick DRG at Providence. Naniwa has never advanced past the first round of Code A. At IEM Kiev Naniwa was beaten 3-1 by one of the worst ZvP players in Korea. Naniwa is very inflexible in his builds and hasn't acclimated to macro PvZ.
Not exactly a strong case for Naniwa taking this event. I'd be more than happy if he managed to do it, but he won't if he continues to play the way he currently does.

Naniwa would probably lose vs MarineKing and Violet and DRG though. But he can beat all of them. In fact he did beat DRG last time they faced eachother at an MLG, and DRG is the best player out of those three imo.
Not even slightly relevant. Sick + not as good as he is now.
Hopefully the top 16 will be as Korean packed as possible. Most of the foreigners are likely to go to MLG Cbus anyway so I would rather see the players that actually need the paid travel getting it.

Some sick 1st round matchups
DRG vs Ganzi Grubby vs Naniwa Thorzain vs Sheth Oz vs Idra Ret vs Sase
My f5 key should be broken by the end of the weekend.

Naniwa still proved at that MLG that he can beat the top koreans. If he's on form he's a contender for the win if you ask me.

Nestea vs Leenock should be great! Some other good matches on the other side of the bracket too

I apologize for this, but I've looked everywhere: TL, reddit, MLG site...and I can't find a link to the bracket! Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Yet he's never proven he can consistently beat the average Korean.
Besides, all of his wins at MLG are clouded with oddities. Such as Nestea and MVP complaining about jetlag and sickness (sure he flew too, but the fact that none of the players were on form says something).
He's a great player, but bleh.

I'm sorry but at some point the jetlag thing becomes ridiculous, especially when you even admit Nani took the same flight. Koreans will have flown to every MLG, it doesn't make every MLG null and void. They come on planes. We get it. I don't wanna hear 'jetlag' every time they don't win. Nani smashed it. He ripped through a bunch of Code S players. His losses against said average koreans were several GSL seasons ago, he's obviously improved since then. I stand by what i said; on form Naniwa can win this tournament. It's more likely that he won't but that's just because every tournament win needs a degree of fortune and I'm not backing him as favourite but I would not be surprised.

How does jetlag become ridiculous? In a experiment, you try to control for variables, otherwise the results become less valid. Certain factors don't affect everyone evenly and it's BS to think so, especially when Nestea and MVP were complaining about it whereas Supernova said jetlagged didn't affect him in the recent IEM.
And you're grouping me with everyone else, I NEVER SAID IT'S JETLAG WHENEVER A KOREAN LOSES. Hell, Idra and Huk deserves the jetlag excuse quite a few times, as does Thorzain against Yu-Gi-O or do you think otherwise. If you want to say that, generalize it with someone else and say it to someone else. Once again, the internet isn't a huge entity that thinks the same, there are different people, no need to be a douche and enforce another's argument onto me.
His losses against average Korean players like Zenio the last time he played in a LAN or even Lucky just a week before MLG? I love Lucky, but come on man.
EDIT: Naniwa is a GREAT player. But I jut don't think he has consistently proven anything is what I'm saying. He's good, he's great, but he has no solid evidence IMO.

Hopefully Grubby takes out NaNiwa. Grubby fighting.

This is the worst brackets ive ever seen, all foreigners will have such a hard time... I dont think its a good idea to invite korean players to foreign tournaments, a korean is going to win this event, atleast someone that lives in korea....

MVP wins, Naniwa runner up
|
There are 6 players here that I could see winning. In order of skill, imo, they are: DRG, PartinG, Mvp, Oz, Nestea, and MC. These are the only 6 players I can see potentially making it to the end. Hoping for DRG to win!

Question regarding losers bracket: Are overall seeds kept throughout the losers bracket? OR is losers bracket just filled in as they go?
Just FOR EXAMPLE: If Leenock lost to dde and went to losers, would Leenock then face the lowest possible seed that got sent to the losers bracket? -And is that seeding kept throughout both brackets?
Thanks.

Really intense bracket. Idra vs Oz, DRG vs GANZI, and Losira vs MKP. Think I'm most excited for NesTea vs Demuslim though

Hmm, what time relative now (from the time in this post) is it gonna start? I thought it would start half an hour ago?
