No need to take it personally bro, which is of course why you lash out like that....I guess my opinion is stupid, right Gheed? But then again I guess a small niche article on a niche site that maybe 6,000 people will read is your life...so good for you...bumped again man...just getting you more revenue...oh wait...

Oh, and if TL is apparently a niche site, then I don't know how 'ESPORTS' could grow then.

This time he decided to go mass photon cannon in one base while I attemped to break his defense. After beating him, he presumed to say "wow you're not very good at this game are you?" I did not care to respond. He also mentioned that he had been watching anime the entire time...My point is that it takes away from your "social experiment" when you act like a jerk to anyone who doesn't meet your standards on the ladder. The Bronze league is what it is. Half the players are noobs(like me) who just want to get better and are struggling with the mechanics. The other half are guys who just plain don't care about improving and want to play their own style. Knowing how Gheed acts on ladder takes away from this blog and it's a shame because it's very well-written. Yeah. You should stop sucking.

Honestly though, well written blog, an enjoyable read although its kind of obvious that you can win games with almost any strategy in bronze if you have a reasonable amount of knowledge of sc2.

Yeah, I partly agree with that, my little brother is 10 years old (9 when he started) and he is one of these players who fit very well into the description... he only plays teamgames now because of the amount of worker and cannon rushes in low bronze (and rages at his teammates who are like 10 times better than him and says they suck LOL). He hasn't played SC2 for a while though and he was never allowed to play a whole lot of video games in the first place, so he never used this rare play time to practice or anything, actually he mostly played campaign and AI anyway He got a lot better, but for new players (especially young ones) the whole RTS genre is really abstract and you shouldn't assume they act logically just because everything looks logical and easy for YOU or because they played a lot of games before. Hell, some players down there are even that young that they can't really deal with numbers in any way above the most basic of set theory. They just like how the units look and they have some kind of weird strategies in their head that don't make a lot of sense when you know how RTS work, they just do what they like and what looks cool or strong for them. I still appreciate the amount of effort put into these blogs and they are well written, so as much as I dislike his attitude and view on other players on ladder I like how much work he puts in so we can enjoy reading it, and I think he shouldn't stop doing it. There is so much bad trolling in the internet, I like some trolling with effort put in.

While I don't really get Gheed's motivation in playing these games either (stuff like decals on buildings and achievements never sparked my interest), these blogs are well written and highly entertaining. Anyone saying that behavior like this will scare away new players from the community, I highly disagree. The players that have an interest in getting better will come and read up on stuff, and learn how a worker rush is a bad strategy within a week. Players who have no interest in the competitive side of the game will not come here, since they won't find anything of interest for them. TL might look elitist, but that's because it always has been, that's why I keep comming here. A friend of mine, who is not a gamer by any means, started out not long after release of SC2 and started in bronze. His RTS experience prior to SC2 were bot games with cheats in BW. I played some 2v2s with him, we played some 1v1s, because he actually wanted to get better, he asked me some stuff. I never taught him a whole lot. I just told him to build more workers, answered his question "and if they rush?" with "that's why you send out a scout" and to just keep spending his ressources. Left him alone for a few months and he made his way to diamond with just a couple of games a week. If you want to learn and get better, it doesn't take that much. So where I am getting at, I can't see any reason why someone would ladder, rage at a worker rush and at the same time seemingly not improve at the game. They either don't care about getting better at all or are unable to do so. I assume the first, because everyone can learn if they are just willing to. Is it just their ego preventing them from seeing their own mistakes? Or is it really them just not caring about the results? But why do they ladder and get mad then? I don't get it. Edit: And I think I meant to post this in the newer installment. How do I forum?
