In a study on motivation, it was shown that those who envision success don't usually end up doing that well (people were asked to imagine getting a great grade on a test, knowing the answers, things like that). Those who imagined studying and doing the work, did much better. This is embodied by your quote picture "find what makes you happy, find who makes you happy." You're not envisioning the actual search with this, you're just envisioning the end result: being happy, having a great person beside you, etc. These are called idle thoughts.
This isn't to be mean or anything, this is just a solid truth about living life and having goals. As the cliche goes "it's the journey, not the destination."
