okay, finished it all, had some camera issues in one mission, and a messed up portrait of Fenix's dragoon form, but other than that it seemed pretty flawless
Obviously, the original SC campaigns are far superior as far as actual quality goes, but it's nice to play for the nostalgia factor... it's a bit embarrasing to remember that you found some of these missions hard as a child though, given that even a bronze player could A-move his way through all of this
ow well, looking forward to seeing the BW campaigns remade in the same way, if there's anyone out there who's willing to create them that is

I'm currently working on the first Brood War campaign (the other protoss). Almost all the maps are done, but there are still some issues with the mod, so expect it at some point in March. There will be a higher difficulty in it, and I may make one for The Fall if the author feels it's a good idea.
Speaking of that, the terrain for the last two campaigns is ready and I may have time to do the triggers, but certainly not to balance the difficulty like I do in The Stand. If someone that can finish WoL in Brutal and Jones' campaign in Hard mode is motivated for some work on balance, let me know. No experience on the editor is necessary, but keep in mind that each map may require several hours of work.

Played through the whole Protoss campaign. Really cool, very nice piece of work. Especially reminded me of how much better dialog was back then. Those writers knew what they were doing. Two things though. The camera on Choosing Sides is absolutely obnoxious. Why is it done like that? And the last mission is waaay too much of a pushover. The original SC campaign wasn't difficult alright, but making a bunch of marines and just focussing the Overmind was kind of a bummer for the last mission. Crank up the difficulty on that one maybe?

Damage calculations are off. Goons make full 20 dmg vs lings for example.

Yeah. I posted this on the project page: ----------------------------------------------------------
So uh, I have some bad news. I just started my playthrough of all three episodes, and... I got annihilated in the third Terran mission, aka Desperate Alliance. Embarrassing, I know, especially considering its partly my own creation, heh. Anyway no big deal, I'm probably a little rusty and it has happened before when I've kind of messed around.
Now, something did feel a little odd about it, my infantry felt weak and Vultures seemed to do too well against Hydras so I did a quick test... apparently the damage types or unit types are all messed up so that everything deals full damage to everything. So for example Hydralisks - which are supposed to deal half damage vs. light targets - were shredding through my infantry.
I tested some different versions of the mod, and in the previous Chris/Telenil version, C.2.3, everything worked fine. So somewhere between C.2.3 and C.3.0 something went wrong. This is a problem on my end, right...? I ran SC2 Localizer on the mod but - nope. The damage/armor values are shown correctly in the in-game tooltips (when you mouse over unit weapon icons), just that they don't, you know, actually work. I do love the new Creep Colonies though
EDIT: I attached a quick mod test map I put together in two minutes, if you guys want to see for yourself. (It ends in a "tie", just hit resume) Try taking hits from Hydras, shooting marines with tanks etc.

Hi Hi!
I've Been watching this since Rebel Yell, I just have one question. Are the dialogue sounds in the maps now? They would really add a lot to the campaign! :D
|
Oh meh god, zealots are laughably bad. Taking full damage from EVERYTHING! >_<
|
The author has apparently found a way to fix that, the update should be online soon.
|
Just played through the protoss compaign and I like it but t he difficulty is sooo low Its way easier then the original, I didnt get stasis fielded into oblivion once which happened all the time in the original. I really appreciate all the work you guys put into this but please make it more difficult because right now its really boring and after all this work this shouldnt be too much to do, right?

Problem is that the AI just about never attacks. In the Shadow Hunters mission, I took 4 nexii right away, maxed out, and A-moved through the map, without ever being attacked... similar scenarios on other maps. Hopefully there will be some rescripting on AI behaviour in ep 4.
|
Don't worry about that, the IA *does* attack in episode 4. I could make a Hard difficulty for episode 3 without too much trouble, but the author of the campaign is Chris, not me, so I would need his permission before publishing it.
|
Currently playing through the Protoss campaign and I'm enjoying it!
One small problem: the unit movement sounds sometimes overlap the dialogue of the "hero" characters. I unchecked "Response Sounds" in the "Sounds" tab but that seems to turn off the dialogue too...

Woot this is great thanks

The hyperion's yamato only does 100 damage, when it says it does 300. Not sure about regular bcs. Also, marines and medics make the last protoss mission so easy. O_O.

Version 3.1 is out, fixing a few bugs. You can also download a version of the last map that has a few more attack waves.

Oh hell yeah! I've been waiting for the end of original SC for months now. First thing I'll do when I come back from work. Also, Telenil, or Chris, can you guys put all three parts as one campaign? Not three separate ones? It would be much better and simpler for the end user. And it would be so friggin cool if you put annotations of some kind in the middle of campaigns, at the end of each necessary mission, when the movies should be watched. Like "Victory, now you should watch this video: and link to youtube or something"
Great work.

Is it possible to save and load missions? I'm getting an error: "The mod data loaded does not match the mod data which was originally used to play this game."
|
The Protoss campaign is as awesome as it has always been. Great job guys
Anyway, I found a small problem on the latest patch: +1 and +3 attacks doesn't work on zealots (Goons are fine though), but +2 does.

Is there a broodwar campaign for sc2? If not I hope you do that too! I just finished all of them with SC2 and it was great.
