Gather ‘round children! For Ruffian is going to tell you the tale about the bravest little SCV.
While playing through the Terran missions I found myself growing rather attached. I loved my little army. I’ll never forget the very first time I played and accidentally killed two of my marines.
It was devastating. What about their families? How would I break it to them?!
T___T
The more I played the more I liked Terran (as a spectator I liked watching Zerg games.) It was to the point I’d have various Starcraft dreams in which my army would make cameos. My favorite was when I had a little pocket-sized army.
WARNING, EXTREMELY NSFW PIC UNDER THE SPOILER. I WARNED YOU

How useful would this be?!
Anyway I was breezing through the early missions with ease. You could say my playing was probably pretty bad though.
“AND I NEED 1000 WRAITHS HERE. AND LETS BUILD A SHIT TON OF SCVS BECAUSE THEY’RE CUTE” I tried re-creating my early days of Starcraft playing (lol like 7ish months ago….) but it was too painful. So have a drawing instead.
So when I reached that one mission in which Duke is a part of your army I figured I would beat it easily.
Oh and I totally did. Shit was ezpz pumpkin pie.
However as my little fleet made up of Duke and a couple of siege tanks destroyed the enemy base I noticed something.
This little SCV hard at work!
A close up of our hero. I tried to make it kawaii. Don’t judge ok.
We were destroying everything but this little SCV managed to avoid us and still try and do his job.
Potato head Duke is unamused.
Mineral power!!!
Duke then decided to try and kill this SCV without my command. Unbelievable, I know.
Lol he was super mad, he wouldn’t stop, yelling at me.
But of course I stopped this madness.
IT WAS TOO CUTE OK. I decided we should just destroy everything first, then get rid of the SCV. I wanted him to feel as if he had a purpose even if he was the only one left of his army.

So I made sure my units only attacked the last building left-the academy.
I watched the little SCV rush over trying to fix it.
Then I wondered if the SCV had a family. He was probably working hard for his wife and child.
A typical family of SCVs
However my thoughts were shattered.
Duke yet again decided to disobey my orders and go after the scv (what an asshole amirite?)
The little SCV booked it. Zooming all around the area as Duke chased after it (I kid you not, he was chasing after a tiny SCV)
Well trained by his commander, our hero avoids being killed.
I panicked! My fingers slipped from the mouse….
Alas it was too late…..
A depiction of the death of our brave warrior.
VICTORY-DESU~!!!!
I’m not sure if it was the fact that it was nearly 3am and I was just being weird. But I got so upset. I felt as if I betrayed that little SCV who I had to kill anyway but still…
How I felt on the inside
How I looked on the outside (this is me always when I’m online lol.)
I suppose the moral of the story is even when you’re all alone and a Battlecruiser is trying to kill you…never give up hope! (this could be a metaphor for life.) So we should all be brave little SCVs is what I’m really trying to say. So always do your best no matter what!! This story seemed so much better at 3am D: lol. But maybe it can cheer you up or at least amuse you.
I hope you enjoyed my random tale. I really love to doodle as you can tell from my previous blogs so expect more ridiculousness :D
PS: Many thanks go to Draguunthor of deviantart for his “Starcraft minis” designs! Otherwise I don’t think I would have been able to draw simple SCVs.
RIP you brave soul. Gone, but never forgotten.
