Hello there Liquidians, I just want to get everybodies thoughts on what we should expect from the New Year coming up. I want to know what all of you expect from the tournaments in the Starcraft2 scene, and what your predictions are on the results for whatever tournaments come up, in regards to Koreans vs Foreigners. Also i would like to hear all of your opinions on the roster changes to most teams in the scene, like Zenio going to Team Liquid and how he can benefit from them and they the same from him. I hope to hear some good feedback and i would like to interact with the community more and get your opinions. I personally believe this is the year of the Foreigners. I believe if EGidra stays long enough to play in tournaments, he will take home a GSL championship and be the first Foreigner to win a GSL championship. Although, wouldn't it be really cool to see EGidra vs EGHuK in the finals O.o Pm me - JinXsc Tweet me @ https://twitter.com/#!/JinXsc

It's 2011 and I expect that a blog with a title like yours would at least contain what you expect to see in 2012.

I predict a foreigner winning GSL around mid-2012, either June or July. o.O
Starcraft 2 is a volatile and user-friendly game. Also with Koreans letting foreigners into their practice environments, and letting them ask questions and providing insight from the absolute best players, it's not at all unlikely to see this happen, in my opinion.

I agree with you, i was thinking the same thing. Although i think it will come sooner then that....i am thinking more of the lines of February or March. Especially if EGidra stays for a long period of time. I see him winning the GSL very soon

I'll make a less bold prediction and say a foreigner will make a top 4. Also that it won't be Idra, my money's on Sen or Naniwa. I'd say Stephano but it doesnt look like hes too committed to playing in Korea.
Edit: Or a lot of the Mouz guys might have a good chance if they stay in Korea for long periods of time. Specifically I'm thinking Mana, Thorzain, and Morrow.
Actually scratch all that, Idra vs Artosis GSL August grand finals, easy.

Mwhaha indeed that would be an epic finals for GSL, but who would cast along side Tasteless....Day9?

No foreigner will win gsl in 2012.

I doubt any foreigner will win the GSL/get to the finals in the not too distant future, foreigners teams lack two things, coaches and dedication.I wouldn't specially bet on IdrA getting out of RO32 Code S due to his predictable style of gameplay that Koreans know better than anyone how to counter, and with all the travelling I have severe doubts HuK will make it to Code S again.
But eh gl to Sen :D.

That will be after Artosis switches to Terran and shows all the Korean pro's how easy Terran mech is. Am I right?

Alright I don't know where all this foreigner winning gsl is coming from but it doesn't make any sense. 1. There will be 5 gsl season in 2012. there was what like 9 in 2011? 2. Foreigners have shown no improvement is gsl, huk finally dropped from code s, jinro's long gone, Naniwa's kicked out but lost 0-2on his only time in code a before anyways, Stephano's leaving and couldn't make it out of his group in the 10 man tournament he was in. SaSe's still in code b, morrow lost in up/downs, pretty much sen and Idra are the only people in a good position and they were freebie seeds. Sen can't stand up to the likes of MVP and DRG or tosses like MC. Idra has shown promising games versus MC, Nestea, and others. He is the only person I see making it to the max round of 8 in season 1. 3. Why would anything change just because they number we assign to our time changes? The 1 changing to a 2 somehow gives white people super powers to beat Koreans in starcraft? lol

There is almost a 0% chance that a foreigner will win GSL - if a foreigner gets into the ro8, this will be a big achievement already.
As for tournaments, I pretty much see the same as 2011, except I think the NASL will die or at least not have the huge prize money that it currently has.
I also predict an influx of former BW-pros and hope that an S-class player will switch to SC2.

I predict that the world will end.
The ground collapse into the molten core and there will be giant tidal waves that will swallow cities. I however will barely escape each of these but only just in the nick of time, through conveniently placed transports.
I also predict (hope to fuck) that a foreigner will win the GSL, and then escape along with my self in said conveniently placed transport just before the ground collapses from under us.
Him and I will make long and squidgy love on the flight until the next escape scene.

I have yet to see foreigners consistently take full matches of koreans where koreans had enough time to prepare for them, they even get knocked out by the ''lesser'' koreans in that format.
Ill be impressed if someone makes it to ro8.
