Anoxys: Shield Upgrade is worth getting against both Terran and Zerg (unless the Terran goes for mass ghosts and EMPs the hell out of everything), but only after you already have +3 weapons and +3 armor. It's worse than weapons and armor, but worth the cost in the late-game.
I have two questions, unrelated:
1) In PvP, how should I fight a Forge Fast Expand? It obviously has a glaring weakness because it's never used at higher leagues.
2) Is there a way for me to see how big the current bonus pool for the season is, so I can calculate my adjusted points?

You say it has a glaring weakness yet you cannot figure out what to do? You either blink rush though the cannons or expand yourself with a massive advantage since you didn't have to spend money on cannons.

Yeah, sometimes people don't know how to solve simple little problems. That's why we have this thread; there's no reason to come in here and be snide about knowing something other people don't know.
In addition to Ravomat's suggestions, any kind of warp-gate play is going to be pretty strong, since your opponent will have extra money sunk into a forge, cannons and a nexus that are all useless in defending his main.
EDIT: Oh, and you can always find people on the ladder who have 0 wins. Check their bonus pool; that's the current total number of bonus points in the pool.

There is this cool build called the "4 gate" that was popular back in the beta. It destroys a FFE because you can simply bypass cannons, or you can kill cannons easily with the amount of units you churn out. Blink destroys it. Quick colossus destroys it.
FFE is really not safe in PvP

Hi I'm a "high" gold level player which means my macro is bad and I have 8 k mins lolol you're so bad etc.
BUT
I'm struggling when getting my third to prevent a bump where I suddenly jump from broke to absolutely rolling in bank like I'm the uncle from Ducktails.
http://drop.sc/79997 Example: About 17-18 minutes into that game my money goes through the roof and I've been floating gas for nearly 7. How could I fix this considering I'm continuously (at gold level) producing Colossus and also going Double Forge and Twilight? Is it simply just more gates? Is there a rough guide to how many gates on how many games? I thought it was like 3/1 base 5/2 base then go nuts after that. Am I wrong?
Any other general comments on my terrible play would be useful.

More gates, more robos, more templars, more stargates, more upgrades. Just spend money on stuff, no matter what. As your macro gets better the excess stuff will disappear on its own since you wont be able to afford it.
Oh, and start trading armies if you have boatloads of money and production facilities.

Hi.Does anyone remember which quite recent series it was where Huk went DT:s against Idra (who just quit right when he saw them)?

I just remember how hilarious it was that Idra didnt scout the pylon IN HIS NATURAL until huk warped those DTs in there

What time should I send the initial scouting probe out, if overlord sees nothing?

When you have all your OCs and PFs on 1 hotkey and build workers, the OCs will fill up the queue before the PF even builds 1. Ive always assumed this was a bug but have recently been told its how its supposed to be (really blizzard? really?)
Is there a workaround to this?

What happened to the Nestea spinecrawler vs FFE rush? It felt kinda revolutionary at the time but then nobody uses it.

In each league there are a number of divisions, like "Ultralisk Alpha", "Hydralisk Upsilon" and so on. Is the letter (alpha, upsilon and so on) an indicator of the MMR range in that particular division?
|
And another question: In bronze, it's quite rare that zerg players actually have any presence on the map, which makes it a bit difficult to move around picking things off in order to force units. Are there any more ways to take advantage of this other than building pylons everywhere?

I'm a bronze Zerg, and I usually stockpile all of my overloads in the closest corner of the map. I would recommend checking there

You mean, right when he did not see them.

Haha! Good idea although my opponents tend to keep them all in their natural for some reason. Makes for a nice bonus when i take it out

Idra used to play with some weird settings that made cloaked units even more apparent. Not sure it works anymore though.

I don't think the letters themselves have anything to do with anything, but IIRC in the past (season 1 or 2), people had determined which divisions were "better" than the others. The lower ones operated with a greater modifier to points gained per game, but a lot of this was before master league IIRC, and I haven't heard anything recently about divisions operating in "tiers" per se.

Tiers only exists between diamond and lower rankings. Masters and GM are unified into a set of divisions so that you can reliably compare point totals across divisions. You cannot do the same for diamond or lower without factoring in division-specific offsets.

This might be a stupid question, but I am in doubt:
If I have upgraded shields, will fungal do less damage to me?
