did you order this yet? if not, CHANGE THE MOTHERBOARD!!! get the same motherboard, but the new GEN3 version of it
|
Too late

OMGGGGG THIS IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE PC EVER CONSTRUCTED!!!!! it is powered with nothing! I believe you have found an infinite power source and have solved the Earth's green house emissions. Congratulations on your triumph.
edit: also, strange choice getting the i5 2500 and an aftermarket heatsink while not having the option of overclocking.
|
|
You got a non -Ti GTX560 which is at a strange price/performance point as well as an overclocking motherboard (and an expensive one at that, it won't do much better than ~$110 mobos for overclocking, will perform the same as a $70 non-OCing H61) with a processor that can't overclock, an unnecessary and expensive heatsink (you aren't overclocking), as well as expensive ram that runs at 1.65V when sandy bridge would prefer 1.5... Should have had TL help you out : (
edit: it'll work, and be pretty damn awesome, just not quite optimized. I picked up the same intel SSD, that thing should be a beast. Enjoy the comp!

I figured I should of had TL help out, but I just came up on a lot of money and I am not the most tech savvy guy. If it works and works well, I am happy. I feel embarrassed now.

Yea, this is kind of an ineffective build. You definitely should have visited this thread.
You might not be able to stream that well with that CPU. You really should have researched first.
EDIT That's not to say that you won't like it, but you could have saved probably $200 OR spent the same amount and got an i5-2500k.
The 560 itself will be just fine for SCII and probably most other games.
|
hell be able to stream fine lol. but yea, non k processor and that mobo is kinda overkill, and shoulda got a 560ti blah blah
|
Lol. It's sort of a douche move to pick apart his computer right after he bought it. Keep in mind these guys are being really critical. This computer will do everything you expected it to do. It seems as though you've put some pretty damn kick ass parts in it.
|
I'm probably running on about those 70% of those stats and I can run sc2 at extreme no problem. (I run it lowest settings though because it makes it easier to dodge banelings and such). I can also tear apart any game... skyrim full settings, no frame drops

1. Cheap cpu. Why spend 150 when u can go 200 and get i2600k 2. Bad heatsink. Why spend 100$ On something that won't do shit when u can get a quiet liquid cooling H7 corsair kit. 3. Only 60 hz monitor. Why not spend 100 more and get the 120hz model from asus.. trust me it makes a big difference. 4. Solid state why not get 2 and put in raid 0. 5. graphics card eh its okay 6. Case looks stupid.
I know im an asshole but you needed to hear the truth.
quick edit: I know some noob is gonna say "im on a budget durrr" well if ur gonna spend 1k on a computer u might as well spend 1500 and get a 3x better computer. those suggestions wouldnt make it 3x better rofl. how is a 2500 cheap, and where is it being sold for 150$?
LOL where are you finding a 2600k for 200

A) You're a complete moron. A 560 is plenty enough for SC2 B) Liquid cooling is hardly better than air cooling, and only provides benefits when bringing a sandy bridge over 4.5 GHZ, which is totally pointless. In addition, when a liquid cooling system starts to go faulty, you can't turn your computer on, you can just turn down the overclock if your air cooler. You're recommending a 150$ cooler, when a 30$ will accomplish maybe 2fps less in sc2. C) Why the FUCK would you need raid for SSD? SSD is fast enough as is. SSD's are slightly more unreliable than HDD's, and adding in RAID makes it so much more shotty. D) Starcraft 2 has a built in 250ms lag, and it's ludicrous to expect more than 40 avg FPS, so I'm not sure how a 120hz monitor will provide 100$ worth of benefit over a 60hz one. E) Where in fucks name are you finding 200$ i7-2600k? F) An i5-2500k can handle 720p streaming just fine
Seriously, you ARE an asshole. You tell a guy he made bad purchases while you recommend he spends 500$ more to marginal benefits, not 3X better.
The funny thing is, amidst all the piss-poor advice you gave, you failed to notice the #1 issue with his build. He has a non-k suffix CPU with an aftermarket heatsink and a Z68. The max he can overclock that is 400mhz.
Please, Please, Please stop talking about computers, you're a completly moron

I just bought the 1156 version of that same Processor, but it is not a GPU also.

Why would you buy LGA1156 when LGA1155 is the same price and performs much better?

Complete idiot.
A core i7 2700k is $74, I guess this must be a cheap CPU.

i have that GPU! i fking love it. but it's a bit hot and loud. so maybe u should get the MSI one.
