That looks much better than the first one. I don't know who else entered. Might still need a little more work to be a contender.
As for the different shades of blue:

If it's true that he's looking for Starcraft in there you should probably change the text to it instead with the Husky logo.

The logo is good, but not good for Husky. I don't think it really fits in with Husky's persona. It's too cool/metallica/new agey. Look at the Husky SC2 animated short, and a lot of the music videos and such he puts on youtube. They're all funny / light hearted / cutesy ... that's basically the persona that Husky exudes: silly, passionate, funloving, etc. This logo doesn't really capture any of what Husky represents except for the fact that he's a caster and likes dogs.

Could you offer some sort of way I could change it to represent that?

I'd go with more of a cartoony look. Lighter colors (metallic grey's, etc don't work well IMO). Again, I think what you did is good, just looking at all the stuff Husky has produced / had produced for him, I don't think it fits.
I.E. imagine that logo at the beginning of this video:
Doesn't quite fit. Cartoony/fun is what I'd suggest... don't really have any super specific recommendations after that. I'll try to think of some today.

He didn't even put his current logo at the beginning of that video.

I wouldn't be surprised if the logo that wins brings out his persona, but it really is anyone's guess. :/
With that said, I don't want to send you on a task you aren't comfortable with (if cartoons aren't your thing then by all means go with what you have). Focus on your strengths. Right now, I think you would be one of the runner-ups as opposed to the winner.
