Wow only top 3 get a prize? There's almost 60 players, and I think most of them would be happier having prizes for top 8. I guess they think it's more exciting for spectators, but I'd watch even if the prize was $100 for first. This is probably normal for WCG though right? I haven't watched WCGs before.

lol 20 for first for a major final...

MLG's final 2nd place was 25k and first 50k...plus they gave up to the top 8 players cash not just top 3.

At least it's paid in cash so winners don't need to wait +3 months for the money.

Asphalt developers or a phone company probably dropped $50k for the prize pool; SC pool is comparable to all the other games (especially considering that CS, wow, and LoL are team games)

I can't imagine any other reason...but it is WCG.

I really dislike these prize distributions. So high on top and so low just under that. This really doesn't help e-sports with distributions like this. Makes it so so few people can have a sustainable income.

WCG has a LOT of work to do if they have any hopes of competing with GSL, MLG, & IPL. I'm just not sure the WCG of old as far as importance will ever be back.

I'm pretty sure all sane finalists will just before the game decide to split 50/50. Which in essence means there's too huge a discrepency in prize money between 2nd and 1st.
