Teacher Jobs - French 2nd Language

My girlfriend is at the University of Toronto right now to be a teacher. Basically, she speaks English and French fluently, and also can speak Danish but not fluently, just good enough to hold a conversation comfortably (she lived there for a bit on exchange). Her teachable/focus is Sociology, but I think she would be able to teach home economics / family studies as well as the humanities, I'm not 100% sure on that.

Her and I are pretty nervous about her being able to get a job, we've heard a lot of different stories. Something everyone seems to agree on is that if you just speak English, you're fucked for a job unless you're willing to wait a long ass time. But with French, I've heard from some people that the job outlook is actually pretty good if you're fluent, with some people even saying it's the exact opposite as the English outlook.

Does anyone have any experience applying as an English speaking or especially as a French speaking teacher? Anyone know the realistic job outlook here? Much appreciated.

For government jobs, which has pretty good pay in Ontario, being bilingual in those two languages is a great plus. I suggest she apply to those. You should apply whenever there's a position open, as these can take over 6 months to get back to you.

To be a teacher, I think you need to go to a teacher's college for high school and maybe elementary as well. She can always try to be a TA at UofT or just find students to tutor.

She's not going to France or to Quebec, it's just that she knows French and we've heard it's an easier way to get a job. We've just been hearing multiple things, some say easy to find a job, some say it's hard. I'm just looking to see if anyone has any information on it or first-hand experience. We'd like to stay in the Niagara area, but really anywhere in Ontario is good. She'll apply everywhere but we're just nervous about her prospects haha.

EDIT: FYI & PS, in Canada, you have to take French from at least Gr. 4 to Gr. 9 and French immersion is pretty popular among parents as well.

French isn't required for some schools in Manitoba. However, there is a lot of demand for immersion teachers (Elementary k-6 and middle school 7-8 depending on the schools) as well as French class teachers in high school. I would assume Ontario has similar demand but the structure is different.

I'm sure she would not have trouble teaching french in some capacity if that's what she wants to do. Else, as previously mentioned, there is a bilingual bonus (or requirement) for most federal jobs. It really depends what she likes doing.

Edit: Clarity. Also, knowing French is always a plus. You can choose not to use it if you don't want to teach French/in French.
