While on November 11th many people are celebrating fallen war heroes, Korea is celebrating a cookie stick coated in chocolate.
You may know them as the Japanese name Pocky, they are a popular candy in Korea and Japan.
Pepero day is kind of like another Valentine's day where you can give someone some Pepero and there's a slight chance they will sleep with you...or something like that.
Anyways, the point is if there's a Korean girl/guy that you like, buy some Pepero/Pocky for them and they will be really surprised and happy.
Alternatively if they're far away or you can't get ahold of some of it, just send them this picture on facebook/instant messenger
It's Pocky day in Japan too. I don't know about the whole love thing, but there are some people who are trying to eat 1111 pieces of Pocky in celebration.
ahhh some koreans set up a rather heavily stocked pepero store on the side of a major walkway at my school...was wondering how they were hoping to get sales. Makes sense now
It's basically become a part of korean culture to give pocky as a cross gender symbol of friendship/affection. It does not mean you will get laid but it is like giving a valentine in grade school.
Oh and be sure to wish for a unicorn @ 11:11 on 11/11/11. I think theres a movement out there, sister told me about it, I found it funny. I am going to wish someone on TeamLiquid wins MLG Providence ;p.
Hehe I bought myself a box of Pocky Almond Crush for this day! Its an indulgence (sells for ~SGD$5.80 here) and today is a perfect excuse to get it because it's really extravagant for a few sticks of biscuits with chocolate and almond pieces =.=
I want that pocky almond crush so bad I'm thinking about booking a flight to Singapore. Don't tell me I can probably get them here or just order them online. Going . To . Singapore . BRB.
