Greetings,
First and foremost, the PPSL would like to formally apologise to everyone (IGN, our sponsors, the players, organisers, special guests and the viewers) who were involved with the IPL4 Pacific Qualifiers. The PPSL takes full responsibility for the way everything has unfolded, and would like to make it clear that it was no one else's fault but ours.
As most people already know, the event has suffered several technical difficulties throughout the last couple of days. A lot of the players were experiencing both internet latency issues, aswell as computer lag issues. Even with our continual efforts to bring the specifications of the computers, as well as the stream quality up to an excellent playable/viewable experience, we were unable to provide what everyone deserved, and for that, we are truly sorry.
We would now like to clarify a few things that many people have asked about concerning individuals not being able to attend the event.
As most people know, the event has suffered from management problems that we are responsible for and am trying to deal with accordingly. I apologise if this has angered the e-sports communities, that have been affected by this.
First is YoJun "YoonYJ" Yun, who recently participated in the Australian Qualifier, hosted by Derek "Dox" Reball. He was unable to secure 1st or 2nd place, and as such was initially unable to attend. Another player, who qualified, had to step down for personal reasons. YoJun was considered as the replacement to attend the event alongside David "arcMSIRossi" Rossi. However, there were a few complications associated with funding (not IPL's fault), and subsequently, I was unable to send him to the event. For that, we deeply apologize and wish YoJun the best in his future endeavors. He will be compensated for flights and accommodations in the future; I have spoken with YoonYJ personally, apologised and have put past the problems between us. He has accepted my apology, and has agreed to help resurrect this situation. I would also like to apologize to Derek "Dox" Reball for any misunderstandings that may have happened with the Australian Leg of the Qualifiers; he is an excellent events/tournament organizer and should be given attention for his passion for e-sports.
There has also been talk about other tournaments not releasing their cash prizes on time; I would like to reassure everyone that the cash prizes were given out to all the winners of the tournament as soon as the tournament ended.
To the members of Team Cube, we apologize for not being able to fly your players over to the event; I feel bad about you guys not being here; in the future we will try our utmost best to invite you to events as compensation for your team not being represented at the event.
To the Players for the HONslaught event; I would like to apologize for not being able to accommodate you guys during the IPL 4 Pacific Qualifier event; our sponsors (S2 Games) have decided to postpone the tournament to a later date.
We would also like to personally thank the following people for their ongoing assistance and support at the event.
- "TorcH"(Ops Manager) - "SeltzerPlease" (Host) - Allyn (Host) - "Artosis" (Caster) - "Tasteless" (Caster) - "CheekyDuck" (Caster) - "LiviBee" (Caster) - "The GunRun" (Stream Support) - KTgameone (Stream Support) - All of our sponsors and partners
and last but not the least
- Staff and Crew from the PPSL and Team AZK
We would also like to thank all of our sponsors for providing us the necessary resources, as well as IGN for their support they have given us during this event.
There were plans to make this event go smoothly as possible; however we didn't have enough time to make the necessary preparations in coordinating the logistics and various minor details. As some may say, little things add up to big things, and we had failed to consider that in our judgment. We shall take this as an invaluable learning experience and we hope to do much better in the future. We shall take every possible bit of expertise this and improve as a team.
The audience here in the Philippines did seem to enjoy the show and we hope to bring more of the same kind of experience to them in the future. As far as promoting StarCraft II in this country is concerned, we feel that we somehow succeeded in that aspect and showed local audiences how exciting this wonderful game truly is. May this be the spark that lights the fire for StarCraft II here in the Philippines so that others can do much better than we did.
Our intention was to provide a wonderful experience, and we understand that we had failed to provide the superior level of quality that IGN, the viewers, the sponsors, and the players deserved. We are sincerely sorry for the way these issues have popped up at this event and i know for a fact that all the major tournaments experienced some of the issues that we experienced as well.
I hope that this clears some of the confusion that has been going around.
Regards,
|
You basically don't answer any of the community concerns and give a very vague apology.
What happened to the HoN prizes? Why exactly didn't you have the funds to send Yoon? Why did you LIE about IPL not giving you the funds? How are you paying back the guy who booked rooms for you? Why didn't you do a better job of providing and guaranteeing stable internet? Are you even paying the guy who set up the stream for you?

You didn't clear up anything, you just stated what happened and said "sorry, we will do better next time". Should have saved your words, since this thread is just going to turn into a mess. I'll move it to the proper section for you though.

Gus is not appearing nor answering.
Clive is stuck here in the hotel till we get this solved today. How about settling your $12,900 bill instead of typing out your fake insincere apology.

This is completely and utterly not enough.
How about you pay Yoon and Dox for the contract you broke? How about out of your own pocket if you're so remorseful? I'll answer for you; cause you're not. Come to SC2sea and and answer for your crimes (breaking contract = breaking law = criminal) instead of just logging to name drop in our chat box.

People are saying you need to pay the $12k for the hotel still

Where did the Money go and why couldn't you fly YJY and Team Cube Members to the Event.
Ever so Conveniently giving by's to two of your players(AZK Team members); because of the missing Cube Players...
And who Took YJY's Spot?
Also how can you explain these incriminations.....
There is an un-official announcement relayed from a friend of some AZK Clan Member(s)

+ Show Spoiler +GUYS New Updates i just found a Message from the Thread that YJY Stared Involving the Fiasco apparently someone Close to AZK Team posted a message on the Fiasco It's on Page 6 Link Here http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=2699&page=6This is a message from a close friend of some of the players of AZK who feel ashamed that Gus has done such atrocities and feel ashamed and sad because they are shown in bad light to many (the world Especially their Team name AZK) because of what Gus had done and what has transpired. Please do not hate the Players it appears many of the Players had no idea what had transpired and feel ashamed and upset about the fiasco that has happened.=================================================================== " Dear SEA Community
I'd like to bring forward a couple of things concerning this situation and the criticism received.
First off, I am not speaking on behalf of any of the AZK team members or management. I know some of their clan members personally and I am friends with them, and have been talking to them about recent events.
They are all in distress. Many of the clan members had no idea about the scams, shame and controversial acts that took place behind their backs. Many of their members expected that of which was told to them, a tournament consisting of the best SEA players paired with some top pro Koreans. They had no idea about what AZK's management did to achieve such a goal as well...
Although what really shook me up while talking to one of them was his concern with the reputation of the players of AZK themselves. Almost none of the members of the team actually were aware of the events their manager Gus had been involved in, and what so called treachery he had committed towards the entire Starcraft 2 community. All they did was look up to him to provide for the team in hopes of becoming a well known and respected clan in SEA. Then when this happens, and suddenly the world turns against Team AZK, they feel extremely distressed not only because such a reputation has been given to the team, but the players feel that they are being blamed as well. Because the scams and such are depicted as 'Team AZK's' fault, or further flame such as 'Team AZK is a terrible team', the players feel as if they are being blamed for the entirety of the scams, and worst of all, some players are starting to believe that it is their fault as well, and as such, are questioning team commitments and total separation.
Now I am aware that some AZK members aren't on the top of the list of the friendliest Starcraft 2 players, but i know a handful of them, and they are extremely nice and friendly people, who are now shook up and lost entirely given the present situation. The players just did as their management told them to, and up until the current events, thought that the management was doing nothing wrong.
The players are also extremely sorry about your situation YoonYJ, and I know one of them that was even extremely eager to meet you. They had no idea about that such a breach, and they all feel betrayed and lost, and they all hope that they will still have a place in the Starcraft 2 SEA scene.
So I do ask you of the SEA community, a community of understanding, to just be aware of this, and maybe construct your posts with these facts in consideration.
I do feel what AZK management did was unacceptable and requires a formal apology if any condolences are to be made, but lets keep our fingers pointed toward them/him and maybe not towards the players themselves.
I post this not as an official statement from the team, nor as one of their members. I post this as a close friend of a couple of the AZK members, and do as for your consideration." =================================================================== THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT PEOPLE JUST A PER-SE RELAYED MESSAGE VIA FRIEND OF AZK CLAN MEMBERS Just making sure you Understand that.

It's so sad that we the staff, did our best to make things work out, and the spotlight for hate is turned to us. On the first day of the event, Gus was nowhere to be found. He arrived late on the event. And it was a great thing Torch was there. I am a staff member, but I would like to speak on behalf of the staff members, who didn't even got the chance to EAT (since he didn't give a fuck if we ate or not) or got even paid as promised. this is really disappointing and sad.. pointing all the blame to team azk, without knowing what really was happening even between the members and Gus. It is unfair to tell everyone here that the leaders just disappeared, its not fair to judge everything by what you see without even knowing what really happen, THEY DIDN'T DISAPPEAR. They went out to look for a computer cafe with (2 group brackets--8players) so that they could finish all the games in TIME (since there is really nothing good if they wait until the computer/internet's fixed). And about the HoN tournament, we were asking for Gus's Decision whether we push through the tournament, but he insisted NO. being his staff members, we follow his orders since we are just merely staff members. With this incident, we sincerely apologize, we can't do anything about it even if we wanted to make it happen, GUS wouldn't allow us, he just insisted NO and that we should push through the SC2 Tournament. We, his own staff members also feel that we got scammed for not being paid (or even given the budget for food and drinks the least) and on behalf of my team, we are really frustrated, tired and disappointed at his leadership. When he arrived late at the venue, he doesn't seem to be on the right mind to lead us. So on behalf of our staff team, we are very sorry to provide you a lack-luster tournament. Thank you to those people who stepped up and lead the way, and we are very thankful to have Torch on our team that time. Even us staff members are puzzled and looking for answers to what the fuck happen to the funds, I see a lot of things, heard a lot of things, UNNECESSARY THINGS that he has been spending on. /rantoff" Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/m48sn/the_ipl_werent_the_only_ones_swindled_by_the_ppsl/c2y3xcn?context=3

Words mean nothing when your actions say the real story. You cannot cover up your despicable actions with some vague blanket apology.
I would like to give you a sincere and wholehearted "fuck you" for single-handedly bringing SEA esports backwards several years.
So from the bottom of my heart gus, and from all of clan TA and similar minded people hoping for a successful event on the world stage in SEA,
Fuck you.
Your mindless apology means nothing.

I may not be the most versed in the whole situation and I may not be the most knowledgeable of everything that happened behind the scenes but nothing of what you said addresses any of the major issues involving you and the tournament you ran.
I would hope you can clarify some of the glaring problems in any future posts but with what you have written and what has come to light about your involvement, you had best come up with a somewhat more poignant post.

Yeah this message hasn't actually solved any issues to be honest, especially with the new ones cropping up yesterday and today about payment issues and poor organization.
|
So the response has basically nothing that answers the questions asked. Vague response is vague.
|
This clears up nothing. Where are the monies?
|
Its 900usd for the hotel, 12k usd for the airfare of the people that were flown in.
He didn't even mention what happened with Honslaught event and what happened to the players that flew in to participate, why he arrived at 3pm on day1 of his event? Why he had the nerve to even attend the AFTER PARTY of the event he almost drove to the ground by doing what he did.
Time was something you seem to have always had but you never really used it properly to put this event in order so that's just a freaking excuse.
