Either you didn't watch IPL 3 or you're just really biased towards the NASL. Personally i think if they chose the NASL instead of the IPL it would be a terrible thing for esports in general.

I like how IGN/IPL seems to be actively working on expanding at such a fast rate and in all directions

Get ready to have everything you love about eSports ruined to appeal to the bigger masses! Aslong as I get better matches to watch I'm happy.

I hope that justintv continue to be their streaming partner cos I would hate to see them get brushed aside by youtube after all the investment they have put into the sc scene. this seems more like a tv station rather then a streaming thing, so Jtv is fairly safe imo.

We (as a community) need to be careful that we don't start moving too quickly. It is great that this will bring more viewers and help promote the growth of esports, but it should also be noted that we don't have anything to fall back on should the response be negative. For example, the thread recently made by Cloud about the payment of pro players is something that shouldn't be an issue if we are to move forward as a legitimate "activity", for lack of a better word. This is the kind of stuff that will give us less respect in the eyes of the masses should it become well known through the rapid exposure that we are receiving. Poorly phrased maybe and I'm sure I could explain better, but I do feel apprehensive about this quick jump to the mainstream. However, I'm still PUMPED about getting an esports YouTube channel :D

I don't really see this as moving too fast, esports have been around for quite a while now. To me it just looks like a huge, but logical, step forward. That would be ironic seeing as Youtube works a lot with the music industry;) Poorly phrased maybe and I'm sure I could explain better, but I do feel apprehensive about this quick jump to the mainstream. Huge steps and risks are necessary, but I hope that we have the permanent infrastructure in place before we take too big of a step (as per the payment issue). That way we always have something to fall back on should this not live up to expectations and fail. Still excited :D
