I basically spent today's sculpting session on detailing the legs to their almost final form. Compare to the previous blog entry's pics (I added on at the very bottom for your convenience). The increments appear small when you don't have a direct comparison, but having these pictures right next to each other, today's work really shows.
Other than that, I removed some of the acid sack, save for a socket that the main weight of the baneling will rest on. The figure would be too heavy to stand on just the pointy legs (tips would quickly break off), and the balance would be too delicate. So instead I opted to leave an unapalogetic socket which additionally allows the claws to be just a tiny bit above ground level - looks more like movement and will save the claws from breaking off even more.
The only parts I need to work one some more are now the face and the detailing on the neck shield. I'll possibly add bumps to the acid sack to make the baneling look a bit less like a tick. On the other hand, the sack already looks a bit too small imho, so I might opt not to. Opinions on that?
