Not sure if I like the new format too. Only top8 from 32 players stay in CodeS. Too many falling to Code A for me. All they needed to change was that group format (from bo1's to something more stable). I would agree even with 16 players falling, but 24 is some serious overstepping. It almost seems like GOM yield to complainers saying there is too many terrans. If you wanna change something do it, but slowly. They way it is now it is hurting some players who had to fought their way through qualifiers/code a.

It's incorrect somewhere - right now SaSe and Naniwa are both listed as in Code A Seeded and Seeded directly into Up & Downs. You have a better chance of getting into Code S from the Code A as opposed to Direct Up & Down Seeding, but you also have a chance to get kicked from Code A (as opposed to Up & Downs worst possible outcome is to end up in Code A for the subsequent season).

+ Show Spoiler + MMA picks YuGiOh. MVP picks Alive Ganzi: I was so angry losing to MVP I almost destroyed the booth. I was too intimidated by him. . .There are many SlayerS players, I want to get some spotlight; I will crush SlayerS players. Picks Ensnare Ensnare: I'm not surprised. I think it will be tough for me this season but I'll try my best. . .I won't tell you my goal this season, but my first step is to knock Ganzi out. Ganzi: Let's cheese each other to go home early! I'm slightly worried because Ensnare has been in Code S for a long time. Happy: I mean to make an interesting pick rather than a practical pick. The race is Zerg. Picks: DongRaeGu DRG: I'm startled. . .Since you picked me after losing so badly in GSTL, you seem anxious to go to Code A. I will grant your wish. Happy: I'm going to prepare harder this season and do my best to show great results. NesTea: (Asked about Blizzcon/HotS) I didn't play much but I really like the Swarm Host. . .I originally planned to pick DRG because he's a good player; he's doing too good, someone needs to teach him a lesson. (Hosts mentions that sC asked to play with NesTea) Picks sC sC: I wanted to meet NesTea in the Ro8, not Ro32! NesTea: I wanted to pick a Protoss player. I talked to Killer and Oz but they didn't want to get picked. . .This is the last GSL of the year. It doesn't seem easy but I'll do my best to win. Coca: I was upset losing frustratingly in Ro8 last season. I have been practising a lot of ZvT. SlayerS terrans have been helping me out a lot and giving me advice. . .I wanted to pick Terran because I had been practising ZvT, but with the new format I will pick a Protoss player. Picks Oz Oz: I kind of expected to be picked early because this is my first Code S. I think he picked me because I lost a lot against Zergs. He is a good player, I hope to learn a lot through our match. . .NesTea was wanting to pick me but I talked him out of it, now I have to play a Zerg player anyway. Coca: This season I do not want to lose to Terran. (John on picking Protoss when you don't want to lose to Terran: The best form of defence is not being there when you're attacked.) Clide: I was very glad to get past the Ro8 this season. This season I mean to go further. . .The new format means that someone who stays in Code S for a long time deserves respect, it seems hard. I have never been in Up and Down matches, people who have tell me it's hell and not to go there. . .I planned to pick a Zerg player whom I've defeated before but it seems every Zerg player has some safety plan such as picking my teammate - if I asked them, they said they'd pick one of my teammates. Picks Huk Huk did not attend. Said he was informed of date and time too late. Clide: Huk was on my "easy list". . .A lot of people have criticised me for being in Code S for a long time and don't get far, but it's very difficult so please don't criticise me too much and give me support. SuperNova: I want to go further than last time. I wish to pick a Terran player. Picks Virus Virus: I'm surprised to be picked so late. . .I had high expectations last season but I didn't do as well as I expected. This season, again, my goal is to win and I'll do my best to achieve it. Part 2 + Show Spoiler + Alive: Because I got knocked out in Ro32 I planned to go much further this season but sadly I got picked by MVP. I mean to pick a Zerg player. Originally I was hoping to pick Losira because he's the same team as MVP and all the others are friends apart from the one I will pick. Picks Curious Alive: I know he's on a winning streak but he's not my friend. I mean to take this opportunity to develop a friendship. Curious: I mean to knock Alive to Code A. It's somewhat scary because MVP is in the group, but they're all Terran players so I'm not too worried. Alive: I want to make it to the Ro8 and stay in Code S. Virus: I've never made it further than Ro16. I wish to make it to Ro8 this season. (Doa: I'm guessing he's going to pick Zerg) Virus: Protoss! Picks Killer Killer: I don't even know who was in my group. I was daydreaming! I'm very happy with my group, they are easy opponents. . .Even though I was the only Protoss in Ro16 and didn't do so well and disappointed a lot of Protoss fans. I intend to compensate this season. Virus: I will put in much more effort this season. Oz: Originally I wanted to win Code A to get directly into Code S but Curious was very good. I was going to take revenge and pick Curious but I have another player in my mind. I want to ask SlayerS players, would you mind if there was a teamkill? Coca: Don't mind. *SlayerS in general seems unfazed* Ganzi: I'm eager for a teamkill! Oz: All the players I want to pick are SlayerS. Picks Taeja Taeja: I'm not happy because there's a Protoss player in my group. I don't like the teamkill either. I think Protoss is too strong; I'm not confident against Oz. Oz: I hope I can make it really far in my first season and I hope the fans support FXO. DRG: I'm not satisfied with my GSL results so far. I expected better. This time I will concentrate on individual league as GSTL is over. . .I didn't expect to get picked so quick. I have a question for all the Terran players: Is there any Terran player who will pick another Terran if I pick them? (GuMiHo is the only volunteer.) Picks GuMiHo GuMiHo: I am only confident in TvT. I'm not confident in TvZ, but I'm preparing some secret builds. . .I don't have any Terran player in my mind yet but I have some time so I'll give it some thought. DRG: I mean survive this season and not disappoint. Ensnare: I'm not upset about the format change. I think it will bring more opportunity for me and more motivation. I wanted to pick a Protoss player, but the remaining ones I do not want to play against so I will pick a Zerg. Picks Leenock Leenock: I smile because I hoped to get picked into this group. Alive kept threatening to pick me but I'm just happy not to end up in Group H with MVP. I'd rather avoid Ganzi because he's beaten me before and Ensnare is good too. I will pick another Terran. (Regarding new patch): David Kim is the man. Doa (representing Huk): Huk told me who to pick. Clide seemed worried after picking Huk and tried to tell me who to pick. (Commentators remind Doa that the person who he puts on the board cannot be changed.) Picks JulyZerg July: Whatever he said wasn't translated. Doa: Huk had no message for July but I'm a big fan of his! Mr Chae to John: Nice jacket! sC: I have fully recovered from my illness. I am a little worried facing NesTea first round. I don't want to pick someone easy, I want to pick someone as revenge for NesTea. Picks Losira Losira: A lot of people have talked about me losing to sC and I've been looking forward to getting back at him. I am happy about the choice because I'm confident both NesTea and I will advance. . .I think sC gets the wrong idea from ladder because whenever we play I deliberately lose. sC: I haven't practised much because I have been ill. Looking at my opponents I shall have to practise very hard. YuGiOh: MMA always acts really nice at the team house but in fact he's been hiding this evil scheme all along. I want to pick Polt but that would be a trap card for me. Picks MC MC: I am very happy. I have been signalling to get picked by YuGiOh. . .NesTea gave me good advice which I ignored before but now seems good - you will eventually play against good players so why pick them early? YuGiOh: I can see why MC said I was an easy opponent and have nothing against that. I did well surviving in Code A and I will try to do the same in Code S. Part 3 + Show Spoiler + MC: A lot of people think PvT is hard and PvZ is easy. I think it's the other way around. . .I was sad that there were many oGs teamkills but 9 players have qualified to Code A which makes me happy. . .Nada is a teammate, asd and Bomber as friends, I don't want to pick Polt. Picks Ryung MC: This is my best group. I want revenge on SlayerS for beating teammates. . .YuGiOh will get fourth place. Ryung: I don't mind playing against my teammates or MC but I don't like being in Group A which means I will not have much time to practise. . .YuGiOh is the hardest to play because you don't know what to expect. . .MC, we went to IPL together and we ate together, why are you doing this to me? MC: I'm friends with asd and Puzzle, didn't want to play against the other Protoss and didn't want to play MarineKing, Bomber and Polt. . .After getting to Code B I wondered why I got there. Many foreign fans supported me on Twitter and this has helped me. This is November and I was champion last November so hopefully I can do it again this year. Ryung: Recently with our partnership with EG Puma has taught me some good 1-1-1 builds! Losira: I mean to pick a Terran player because, while I'm confident in ZvP, but I had great fun watching DRG's ZvT and have come up with many new builds from it. Many fans have said I'm weak early game and that annoyed me so much I will show them wrong. Picks asd Losira: I picked asd because he wanted to play against NesTea and me and also because of his history with sC. asd: When MMA said he wanted to play someone easy the camera immediately showed me! I want to show that to be wrong. . .My goal is to make it to Ro16 with sC. July: (In response to the fact that the hosts said his builds didn't work last season) I only know how to be aggressive. I was upset because I wasn't ready in ZvZ last season but now I am. Picks Puzzle July: I have a better win% against Terran but I wanted to play against Protoss. Puzzle: Ever since I was young I watched July on television and was impressed by him. . .I felt a lot of pressure last season. . .Against Sage, I think I got lucky because I was losing in terms of build order and Sage made some mistakes. July: I have less than one year as a pro gamer because I have to do my term in the army. . .I'm happy with my group. I think Huk and I are similar; we both like to joke around. Puzzle: I will try to win Code S like I won Code A. Leenock: I was sad to only make Ro16 last season. I don't think I was able to show everything I prepared last season, but this season I will try to. Picks Polt Leenock: The only players I haven't played are Bomber and Polt. Polt comes first alphabetically so I picked him. Polt: I am happy with my group. I am happy with all groups. Leenock: Thanks to all the fans supporting me. This is the last GSL of the year and I don't think I have done well so far so I will try my best. Polt: I got knocked out Ro32 last season. That surprised me. GuMiHo: I kind of regret volunteering when DRG was picking. Now I am a little intimidated by the names in my group. Picks Bomber GuMiHo: I want to play good players to get over my nerve issues. I noticed DRG beat Bomber at MLG so hopefully even if I lose to him DRG will beat him. My goal this season is to overcome my nerve issues and win. Bomber: Both Happy and DRG are good players so it's not an easy group. Although I have beaten him before in MLG I don't think it will be the same this time(?). I think it will be fun to play against DRG and I will be showing some ceremonies. GuMiHo: I will show you great play. *Round of applause for GuMiHo* Taeja: (Asked about SlayerS Terrans.) We split games about evenly. (Asked whether he is the best player in his group) Coca is best. Oz just plays OP Protoss. Picks Nada Nada: I'm glad Taeja picked me because I wanted to play TvT. . .I like Coca. I don't like that the group has all the races. Taeja: I will do my best and hope to at least stay in Code S. Nada: (To SC2 pros) You must take pride in being the first pro SC2 players. Keep that in mind. *Applause* Killer: I'm upset I can only pick between two players. There are only 5 Protoss players again and I hope I can be the last one again. Picks Jjakji Killer: We were on the same team when we played Brood War. MarineKing is the best TvP player so I wanted to face Jjakji who I'm more familiar with. . .I have been qq'ing on Twitter and since then we've had a patch which is making things better. Jjakji: I was hoping to go to Group H to get over my issues with TvZ. I will have to get to Ro8 so I can pick my group next season. . .I'm sorry for my teammates who didn't manage to get into Code A today and hope they manage next season. Curious: I dominated Code A and it's time for me to dominate Code S. . .I don't really want to play against MarineKing as he is very talented and has many styles but I will win. I mean to dominate this group. I will meet the expectations of the fans by showing great games. MarineKing: I expected to be picked early so I had a long list of players to pick. I'm surprised to be picked last. (Asked who he would have picked earlier) I would have picked Puzzle or MC. . .Mr Chae, you said that Curious is a better player than NesTea on the ladder, but I can't agree to that and think it was bm to NesTea. (Turns out it was Lee, not Mr Chae, Lee says sorry). It will be fun to play against MVP again. I can't see me losing to Curious. Mr Chae: How can you say that to Code A champion? You've never been champion yourself! MarineKing: I was able to attend MLG because of foreign fans paid for my flight. I apologise for not meeting their expectations. Continue supporting me and I'll do better. *Losira apologises for calling sC "wunji" (don't know proper Korean transliteration, sorry) because he fell out of a "clique" (I guess changing teams) which apparently is a reference to SK's president committing suicide and said he didn't know where it was from*

The foreigners still have to qualify through the Up and Down's. And it's not like they're free seeds, they have to do well in MLG first to get them. I think GOM got tired of foreigners beating people in the ro32 of Code A but then failing in the Ro16 and not coming back(Sheth/Sjow). Also, the bigger reason is more foreigners = more subscribers = more money for GOM. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy just watching Koreans.
