Hi everyone, before I continue with the main post I shall officially introduce myself!

Horses are terrible Starcraft players.

My name is Ruffian. I’m 19 and I’m an Equine Studies major at DVC. I plan on working in the thoroughbred racing industry raising and training young horses. There’s an entire (and slightly shameful) story about how I got into Starcraft and the TL community so I’ll make a blog about that another time. I basically started off lurking the forums and watching streams for about three months and about a month ago I finally got THE BROODWAR CHEST THING OF AWESOMENESS :D

I suck hardcore at the game but it’s okay because I’m having lots of fun playing. I also haven’t chosen a race that I like best yet. ~~Am I allowed to like them all?~~

Now onto the rest~!

Sometime in late September it was my best friend’s birthday. Me and said best friend love k-pop like it’s our job. We also really wanted to go to SM Town LA last year but couldn’t due to

1.) Living on the East Coast (and having no money)
2.) College freshmen (also having no money)

So we heard SM Town was coming to NYC but we decided not to go because…no money again ;__; Damn expensive college.

But on my friend’s birthday I stopped by her house as a surprise and delivered her a gift (a Korean cookbook!) But her awesome mom was just like “LOL I GOT YOU GUYS TICKETS TO SM TOWN NYC, SURPRISE FOR EVERYONE AND I TOTALLY JUST BLEW YOUR PRESENT OUT OF THE WATER!” Naturally I freaked out.

SM is my most favorite company. And by that I mean the actual company is poop but the stars who are a part of it are amazing. I couldn’t believe that in a month I would be seeing SNSD, Shinee, Super Junior, BoA, and F(x)~! I honestly never thought I’d see any of these groups live unless I went to Korea (which is happening this summer fffff.)

Finally the weekend of the concert had arrived. I celebrated by having a k-pop party in my room.

So Sunday finally arrived. I woke up and got ready WAY too early. We were leaving around 3:15pm to catch a train. I was showered and dressed by 10:30am lol. I decided to wear lots of pink. Lolita pink. Anyways I sat around playing the last Terran mission on BW. Damn I was frustrated.

However good things come to those who wait. Or those who push their way through the crowd yelling. We entered Madison Square Garden with our hearts fluttering at a million miles a minute. The crowd waiting outside for GA was insane. I was really happy to see how diverse the crowd was too.

Of course they were selling really amazing merchandise. I only had like $18 with me. Mainly because online it was stated that no merchandise would be sold. I believed it like an idiot. They were selling really pretty towels, bags, coffee cups, shirts, posters, light up thingies, and fans. The fans each had a different face on them. So you could get any member you wanted. In the end my friend lent me a few bucks so I could get a bag.

It’s actually awesome quality. Like the material used for backpacks.

Just as the concert was about to begin. Only about half of the venue.

We sat there for about an hour and a half. Honestly it didn’t feel that long. They kept playing the trailer for BoA’s new movie on a big screen. It looks like it’ll either be really good or really corny. They also kept playing this commercial for SM auditions. I swear, people were screaming so loud with just images of their favorite idols on the screen. I knew right then and there it would be total chaos when the real people emerged!

Suddenly, the lights dimmed. The crowd roared with excitement. I was literally bouncing up and down. Then running out onto the stage was…

Honestly, every time I saw Amber I nearly died.

I don’t know what it is about her androgynous-ness that makes girls flip shit over her. But I am one of those girls. I was happy to see her getting a lot of love from the crowd.

Cute blog. Extra points for the illustrations. Wish more K-Pop concerts would come my way too. West Coast gets all the good stuff. I guess I should be in NYC atm considering my Leafs are playing the Rangers tomorrow night. D=

i was gonna go but i dunno as much as i like kpop seeing it live is definitely not my kinda show, and i hate sitting way up high which is where id have been unless i forked over ~$250 on stubhub for a GA ticket (which ive done before for other shows)
