I enjoy the creepy designs as much as anyone else (infestor/muta/roach), but the reaction that I get from the swarm host is unique.

Its just the locust seed photoshopped onto body parts. Whoever the man was that made that picture was a master troll, because he gave everyone here this "phobia" So do you think it's only the very last frame that just "bugs" the hell out of us? And through association we feel uneasy when we see this bubbly/hole pattern else where?

In the youtube video, most of the pictures/scenes that were disturbing involved insects/weird stuff popping out of the said holes. Thus the fear is not induced directly by the sight of the hole, but rather by the thought of that some insect/creepy/harmful creature might pop out of the hole and cause you ill. Such fear is not necessarily irrational. Heck, if you weren't creeped out AT ALL at some point by the video, I would dare say there is something wrong with you. Think of the following: Vespene geysers? Probably not creepy right? But an apple full of holes made by worms? Disgusting! A sieve? Not creepy. Holes made by maggots? Ewww. My point is that the term "Trypophobia" is not recognized by science because it has no scientific base. So to come back to the OP, people who have fear of creatures popping out of holes should: A. Not play Zerg B. Never research burrow C. Look away when burrowing and unburrowing

Unless the sight of asymetric holes sends you running, you're not part of that of that 1%. Everyones overblowing this

The phobia is completely unrelated to why the Swarm Host could be considered unpleasant. Fix this. The entire thread just seems like a campaign to raise awareness of an irrational fear that most people will only give a second thought to now that it's been introduced to them, and it's given people a false sense of what the fear supposedly is in the first place. If you want to hate on the design, create a thread that hates on the design, then use something like this (not that it would work, because it's a ridiculously manipulative action that ignores any statistical integrity) to support it. Don't just single it out, otherwise you look like a prick who just wants attention for something while barely relating it to the topic at hand. I don't like the design of the Swarm Host and think it should be changed, but it's not due to this "phobia". I guess that means my opinion shouldn't count.

I don't have Trypophobia, and watched the video fine, but I used to have a serious issue with Aichmophobia (fear of needles or very pointed objects) and literally could not get a shot until I was like 14 because I just hated needles that much. They had to put me to sleep to do it. It's an IRRATIONAL fear, that's why its a phobia, but it doesn't make it stupid, its a legitimate psychological issue. Wait so you think this guy doesn't like the design and is making up an excuse to criticize it? What? The OP is bringing up the issue of the design as it relates to this specific condition. This is why he doesn't like it very much, he isn't using this as an excuse to hate on it. I have absolutely no idea what your thought process was while making that post.

I'm fairly sure that the vast majority of people feel disgust at lacerations and wounds at the sizes shown in human skin for rational reasons. For one thing, wounds that size are instinctually recognized as "a bad sign" for obvious reasons.

So.. all I'm saying is that the Swarm Host artwork is gross (way grosser than the other zerg "bugs") because it resembles open sores and parasites, and I hope blizzard changes it up some. Not because of phobias, but just because it's fucking gross.

Same with Queens laying tumors. Nor to mention the infamous Spine Crawler v. Spore Crawler action. It looks awesome. Even if its...viability...is debatable.
