let me explain. When I saw this thread the first time, I laughed. Ponies? bronies? wtf? My vision of masculinity involved wearing Carrharts, eating meat, lifting heavy objects and spitting.
That was over two months ago. Today, that vision is shattered. I've watched every episode of season 1, some multiple times. I've wallowed in it so hardcore, I watched MLP with my siblings (yeah, kavdragon I'm outing you too), and even had texting conversations with my little sister that are basically recreations of favorite moments (all you do is take a cup of flour, add it to the mix!). I've tried to suck my friends in with mashups that I knew would be irresistable (my little top gear comes to mind). I knew I was near the bottom when I was forced to confess to my girlfriend my secret obsession.
How did I get here? It was you gmarshal, and every damn one of you bronies that kept this thread popping up on the side bar, reminding me every time that this thread was real, that there must be something to it. I would never have believed that this thread was legit without the dedication of everyone here.
Curiosity led to my downfall, as I watched one recommended episode after the next... Now here I am, brokenely admitting to myself and the world that... I am... a brony...
drama aside, I'm 27 and I like watching this with my 15y.o. sister... pinkie pie is our favorite I believe and we're planning to watch season 2 at some point, I just have to invite her over sometime and make it happen. Oh yeah, I still eat meat, wear carrharts, lift heavy objects and spit when I'm not singing about cupcakes. Thanks everyone for the lulz! and seriously gmarshal,
You are most welcome aidnai, now to convert the rest of the mafia forums! :-P
Seriously though, glad to see you here ^_^
GMarshal is like the pony(brony?) diplomat of TL.
Truthfully, I wouldn't have watched the show when I did if not for this thread, but I wasn't really a skeptic of it I just didn't really know anything about it yet. Now I do and life is great and all that. I'm actually surprised I got added into the list back when I made one measly little post!
I was just told by my little sister that I talk about ponies too much. Ouch.
Oh well, I'll just talk more about ponies here... Currently making my way through the "Dangerous Business" fanfic. It's living up to it's reccomendation so far (Someday I'll get through most of that list, someday). It pulls off the feel of the Lord of the Rings books suprisingly well. While not being so similar as to be a simple crossover.
Frankly the whole fan base that doesn't consist of children is depressing me and every time I see this post bumped I can't help but picture these painfully awkward people. I mean just try to have a conversation with a girl about how you like the show MLP and see what happens.

Girls at my work thought it was awesome when I said I liked the show + Show Spoiler +
Damn, another day, another great slew of posts to catch up on.
Welcome to the herd, new bronies! I love reading stories like the ones you posted; they're a constant reminder of how rediculous this fandom really is.
On a personal note, I'm getting increasingly pumped for this weekend as Operation Flutter[9]'s execution phase draws ever closer, day by day. Hopefully I didn't make a terrible mistake and Day[9] shows up to BlizzCon (I assumed he is, but I haven't seen any real proof).
Lately, I've been listening to this song a lot, for obvious reasons:
PS: I randomly checked JJ's Twitter account and we have 2 accounts that both of us follow. Can you guess which ones they are?

Wasn't Day[9] actually Casting the Blizzcon invitational? >_> He cast both LA and NA invitationals, I'd hardly think he wouldn't cast the whole thing as well.
Also, go ask JJ for a Day[9] pony fanart, I'm sure he will do a really good one!

I'd forgotten about that. Yeah, Blizzard would definitely want him to cast the BlizzCon World Championships in that case, lol.
That's just my paranoid side showing through. *Twilight rape face*
If Day[9] becomes a brony, I'll PM JJ and let him know. As it is I'm debating commissioning him to do a title pic for my fanfic when it's done, but they're wicked fucking expensive (but at the quality of art that that man produces, it's understandable), so I won't be able to directly afford a commission.
Well, a long time ago, I had an idea of "what if we could show Day[9] the way of the brony?" Then ideas were bounced around. After a while, it ended up with "somepony go to BlizzCon and give him a Fluttershy under the motive of 'getting a friend for Manfred'" and giving him the spiel about bronydom.

Oh, we all are. Day[9] just has the perfect personality for this. That's why we are all positive with this operation

Nicole Oliver (VA for Celestia) just confirmed (let slip?) in a podcast interview that they've begun recording for season 3. Meaning that at least one script is already nearly finalized. Since EqD has yet to realize this and explode, here ya go.
Edit: It's about 5 minutes in.
You can thank the Escapist usergroup (which contains the people who make this podcast, or so I believe without total certainty) for the announcement. 1000+ members and the second-largest group; the site was one of the first gaming sites to be overrun since the editors kept posting pony featured articles.
When I rewatch S2 EP 3 over and over again, I can't help but notice the incredible background music that adds so much to the show - it's gotten so much better since S1. Some notable examples (times are for this video:
8:46 - 8:51: Not a new theme, but fits the situation perfectly. 13:16 - 13:26: Really reminiscent of something that'd be in a video game imo - represents Twilights attitude perfectly, with the dissonance in the middle. 14:44 - 14:52: Same "theme" as above, fits well with the the godtier voice acting of Tara Strong. "PROHHBLEM!!"
Definitely missing some but those stand out to me. LOVE Twilight's crazy theme.

He's a premade brony! I'm pretty sure I've actually heard him say "love and tolerate" in a daily before. And how can someone that happy not feel a connection? Then, after we have Day9... PONIES FOR ALL!
See that TL horse logo up there? It'll be a pony before long. Just typing that makes me wonder why we don't have more TL horse pony art...
