I get why people play and watch SC2, hell even devote entire lives to it. Guys like Artosis and Day9 man, I just gained a whole new level of respect for them. I now also get why people say becoming a progamer is HARD. Holy shit SC2 is a hard game. I just played probally one of the most perfect games of my life (lol) and I still lost because I fucked up some shit. And thats SC2, you can't just get good at by memorising a single build or by perfecting your macro, you have to be good at so many tiny, little things that give you an edge. But thats why I love SC2. You gotta be willing to adapt, willing to try harder, willing to focus, willing to go what goes against your instincts. RTS, and SC2 in general are games with skill curves unlike any other.
And now of course, I must give my reasons for posting this. Maybe a declearation that I will become a progamer? Hell, at the very least get into master league right?
No.
My goals now, are these.
+ Show Spoiler + -Join clan FaDe on the SEA server.
-Get the fuck out of plat and into diamond
-Get into the top 10 of my diamond division
-Make atleast 1 dollar through playing SC2
+ Show Spoiler + Effort is the only real currency
|
haha i like the "make at least 1 dollar" i don't see how it's going to be possible; maybe some "diamond or lower" tourneys?
|
I beg to disagree. Skill and competitive results are the only real currency. Effort is merely a reliable method of acquiring this currency.
|
Good luck man, And that 1 dollar must not come from winning a bet

SEA has weekly tourneys that offer cash prizes (like 10 dollars for coming first) I gotta do it man, it was my new years resolution. (Make atleast 1 dollar through playing a video game)

Hey man, you nearly made me cry and go back to 1v1ing But.....I'm too bad at this game, maybe when HotS comes out, i'll try harder

Go to a bar, find a very drunk rich man, tell him you play starcraft, ask for a dollar, profit.

Nestea: "Yeah, i've set a goal, i'm gonna make at least 10 won every month on StarCraft

If you turn the computer off every night, after a while you will save 1$.

hahaha.
Op: making even $1, thats a great goal, go for it!

It sure it a strange feeling to lose a game and still feel like you played the best game of your life. I get that sometimes Some of the the best games I've ever played were losses.
|
These are fun and realistic goals. Bet you can do it. As for making a buck, why not find a friend of equal level and bet $1 on the game. Don't lose though…lol.

Don't lose though…lol. No man, thats pussy shit. I gotta do this hardcore style man, I gotta do this legit, or else I've gained nothing. The entire point of this thread was so I was inprised to do better, and I plan to. The only thing that remains is just how much effort I put into this. I can take the weak way out and scam some guy out of a buck over a game of SC2 or I can put in time and effort to make money in a more legit manner. Which one would you give you more satisfaction? + Show Spoiler +Would anyone be intrested in me putting up a stream in the near future? I have pretty crappy internet atm, but I am hopfully getting better internet over the next few weeks.
