Yeah, those 6 gate timing pushes are missing. He hasn't won anything in the Korean scene since those timing pushes were figured out.

You know, I hate to say this, but I kinda agree. While MC has shown a vast amount of builds, they are in foreign tournaments against worse players. He really hasn't made much noise in Korean with those builds.


Well, it seems to be the truth. He took the GSL by storm with those pushes that no one could stop, which included his impeccable force field placement. Now he can't even beat an average pro level Zerg, no offense to Monster, but it's the truth.


For his defense, that's what every Protoss is doing. They do "innovative" builds and start losing once people figure them out, while other races are playing balanced games/builds.

plenty of problems in the second game, letting the lings runby twice was pretty fail. But what about game 3? What problems did you see other than the final blink in? (he was already behind 50 supply at that point btw). Should he have applied pressure? with zealot sentry army against spling infestor?. Maybe he needed a fast third? but wait, its not terminus where you can get a free third. So what else?

Scouting your opponent's main is a nice start.


He scouted everything with phoenixes and observers except the muta switch which wasn't what lost him the game. Try again.


Please just stop with the balance whine. After that first attack MC was behind because he couldn't apply any pressure or take a 3rd. Then he splits his blink stalkers off from his main force at the end of the game and gets trapped an surrounded. It only takes one big mistake to lose you the game, that is how Starcraft II is.

Thorzain take 2 games out of DongRaeGu in TvZ (not his best matchup).
DongRaeGu's ZvT is best matchup (also maybe best zvt in korea).

Second time today that I saw what was supposed to be a mundane Hellion poke turn into a Drone massacre. Happened during one of today's NASL games, too (unless I'm mistaken. I saw quite a few VODs today, and it's late so my memories may be blending together)

On the topic of jetlag, why is it that when it comes to players traveling to events, they seem to always arrive only a day before they need to play? Why not get there at least a few days in advance in order to get some rest and adjust to the time difference so they won't be exhausted when it comes time to get into the booth?

Because there isn't enough time sometimes(Like, GSL Match 1 day before MLG). Also when they're traveling, they need to take every little time in between flights to practice

Just a random thought but if you had told me several months ago that oGsMC would be knocked out entirely in the GSL in 2011, I would've called you crazy. Hope to see him back in the GSL soon, one of my favorite personalities and players. He might not be Code S or Code A anymore but he's still a "must see" player for me.

Congrats to Monster on the victory and good luck to him in the remainder of the tournament.
