If you do decide to grow out a beard before shaving it, please do look into a way to use it for a good cause. I know people have grown out their hair to donate towards cancer patients (Locks of Love) maybe there is something similar for beards.

I also approve of the gf suggestion to look into other sources of income. Crafts are a hard sell and not a very stable market from what I have seen. You could have tons of interest one day and then nothing for months.

My only piece of advice would be would be to discuss your idea with whatever family member you are living with and your gf. While the decision of what to do with your life is always yours, decisions like this should never be taken lightly and those close to you should know what you are thinking and going through. In the end, after trying to live your dream you may decided that it is not the path you originally envisioned and there is no need risk burning any bridges before you embark on your journey. From their perspective, if you rushed into something like this without letting them know, you could seriously damage the relationship with both (from both an emotional and financial standpoint). It is something in the making, and not something I just decided today.

It is something in the making, and not something I just decided today. I am still giving it thought though. I will proceed with the growing of the beard while I thinking long and hard about this. Your advice is solid, and I will for sure be looking at secondary sources of income. I'm sure I will end up having to do 2 or 3 things to make enough to get by. However, I am a minimalist and my spending is in check. I am very good on a budget. At the same time I know it might be hard. I know I also could fail. But, I at least want to take a shot at a dream or 2 while I'm still kinda young (still thinking though). I like your ambition. I just believe you will need to think about income sources a bit more. That being said, in college, a town near me had a booming craft market. If you had access to something like that, it would help stabilize your income a great deal and allow you to live your dream more easily. You certainly have some life goals and I hope you accomplish them, for me, I have some more countries that I hope to tour in within my lifetime.

And I recommend keeping your job, actually. As much as you want to quit, the job market sucks atm. At the very least find a new job before quitting. Maybe you could open a small online store selling canes and other things you carve. Maybe you could go SC2 pro! Regardless, good luck with your adventures.
