I'm just starting to play around with the tablet and photoshop [after using a pen and paper for so long] and I was curious to see if the TL community would be able to give me some pointers. The reason I post here is because I'm using known figureheads in the SC2 community as my "test subjects".
First up, Milkis.
+ Show Spoiler +
Reference picture is from Ghostclaw's album: + Show Spoiler +
It's hard to get used to a new pen, I must say T-T'' But please, comments and criticism are welcome. I just want to get better.
If you're reading this Milkis, I'm sorry if you think it looks bad/embarrassing. I have no intention of making you look horrible

I thought it looked like Milkis lost twenty pounds, until I saw his pupils and then I knew where the weight went.

I don't really think the pic looks like Milkis...
My guess is you're used to the symbol system! Try instead of drawing symbols of what you deem to be specific objects, to instead draw nameless shapes and features of Milkis's face as you see them. If you want to go for more of a caricature then just identify things that people will notice when they see Milkis, and exaggerate them -really hard to do if you can't do the first part (about drawing what you see without symbols, etc.).

Ah, thank you, good sir ^^ The article you linked is also very interesting. I will try this on my next attempt.

Sweeet picture though. Going good !

I'll try again with a different person most likely and redraw Milkis when I get better ^^'' Another person or SC2 unit? Drawn in a manga style most likely [even though I'm trying to grow out of it >-<]

Nice! Tablets are fun
You captured the gentle demeanor quite well. The hair is cool too.
Lines are a bit sketchy, but that's unavoidable and gets better with time/practice with the tablet. Being aware of the line quality doesn't hurt though.
Careful with the neck. Esp the left shoulder side(his left). It is a good habit to use a quick reference,, even a cartoon one, for challenging parts.
Shoulders are a bit square. Milkis has a diff body language going on, like a shy cuddly hunching.
Overall it's a nice pic and hope you have fun and do more

It looks sort of like Hot_Bid combined with Milkis :O
Nice job! ^^

Thank you I've been trying to get smoother outlines ^^'' So more practice would help smooth it out versus sketching it? :o

Not a bad attempt, especially since you are still getting use to the tablet.
If you are serious about getting better at drawing/painting its all about practice, much the same as sc, you need good resources and then put the theory into practice.
Your painting is very manga/anime, and that's a stylistic choice, but every great manga/anime artist knows his anatomy inside out and can accurately draw realistic people as well.
If you want to take a look at the cream of the crop computer generated images check out conceptart.org and CGHUB there are a lot of useful links ranging from tablet control to beginning portraiture.
If you can get your hands on any Andrew Loomis books they will teach you how to draw both the human body and portraits with a lot of depth. You will learn to see things differently (literally) and its one of the coolest things ever ;D.
The best advice I can give you right now is put down the tablet pen and pick up a pencil/brush, get a sketchbook and just mass draw. Drawing is essentially visual problem solving in space (you'll understand once you learn some basics). Once you learn how to paint and draw traditionally, learning the tablet is easy, it's just another medium.
Good luck on your artistic journey if you decide to pursue art a bit farther as a hobby or something more ;D
If you are interested you can respond/PM me and ill gladly direct you to some books/resources you might find useful = ]

If Milkis lost 25 pounds, that's EXACTLY what he would look like

if that is how i'd look like after i lost 25 pounds i guess that is motivation D:

Milkis is physically incapable of opening his eyes that wide. I shared a room with the man for 3 days and never saw the color of his eyes.

Thank you, good sir ^^ I'm more used to a sketchbook and pencil and my manga drawings have significantly deteriorated when learning to use a tablet eheh >-<''

Sorry if it looks awkward >-<'' I'll redo it better next time!
Thank you to everyone that spent time to look at this and replied ^^ I'll try to do it better on my next attempt.

Cool good job man keep at it and soon a tablet will feel 100x more natural and flexible and diverse than any pen or pencil can ever be
